Action-packed anime series never fail to keep viewers hooked, thanks to their diverse range of fights, escapades, and missions. Across the board, action is a highly favored genre in anime, often being one of the top choices. Its adaptability is remarkable, blending seamlessly with various other genres. From epic battles displaying divine power in shows like “Dragon Ball” to humorous brawls in “Gintama”, from wrestling monstrous creatures in “Tokyo Ghoul” to thrilling fantastical journeys in “One Piece”, there’s an action anime for every preference.
Over time, the collection of heart-pounding action titles has grown exponentially. With each passing year, more movies, more entertainment, more affectionate connections, and inevitably, more thrilling action sequences have been added to it. It’s no wonder that audiences find themselves enthralled, teetering on the edge of their seats, as they watch these films with their rapid-fire pacing, high-stakes scenarios, intricate fight choreography, and pulse-quickening excitement. Although there are numerous titles, both old and new, that have captivated audiences for years, these stand out as the crème de la crème!
1) Fullmetal Alchemist: Brotherhood
In their quest to resurrect their mother, the Elric brothers disregarded the prohibition on human transmutation, leading to severe consequences. Edward lost both his arm and leg as a result, while Alphonse forfeited his physical body. Winry, their mechanical engineer friend, equipped Edward with advanced prosthetic limbs. To save Alphonse, Edward bound his soul to an entire suit of armor. Driven by the desire to recover their bodies, they embarked on a journey in search of the Philosopher’s Stone, a legendary artifact rumored to defy the standard rules of alchemy. Along the way, they found themselves ensnared in a complex web of intrigue.
In a thrilling, enigmatic journey filled with secrets, mysteries, and clandestine activities, the indomitable brothers embark on an exhilarating quest fraught with towering risks. The renowned series Fullmetal Alchemist: Brotherhood, consistently ranked among the best anime for quite some time now, is well-deserving of its acclaim.
Fullmetal Alchemist: Brotherhood can be streamed on Netflix and Crunchyroll.
2) Dandadan
In a turn of events, spirited character Momo Ayase steps up to protect bookworm Ken Takakura, known as Okarun, from harassment by bullies. As she shields him, Okarun mistakenly assumes she shares his interest in aliens and the supernatural. When she clarifies that while she doesn’t believe in UFOs, she does think ghosts exist, Okarun laughs off the idea that ghosts are real. This kicks off a debate between them about the existence of aliens and ghosts, which eventually strengthens their friendship due to their contrasting beliefs – ironically, leading to the resolution of an unbelievable situation: retrieving Okarun’s family heirlooms from the very entities they initially questioned.
In this extraordinary action-comedy, our heroes Momo and Okarun encounter strange entities such as aliens, ghosts, and grandmothers! Despite these formidable adversaries, this dynamic duo not only triumphs over whatever obstructs their quest for Okarun’s golden orbs but also acquires astonishing powers in the process.
Aliens, spirits, grannies – oh dear! These challenging foes stand no chance against the unstoppable team of Momo and Okarun! Not only do they succeed in gathering the golden balls, but they also discover remarkable abilities for themselves throughout their supernatural adventure.
Dandadan can be streamed on Netflix and Crunchyroll.
3) Attack on Titan
In ancient times, humanity narrowly avoided extinction by hiding within colossal stone fortifications to protect themselves from terrifying creatures called Titans. For a century, peace reigned and the threat of Titans seemed to vanish. However, one titan managed to breach the walls, plunging humanity back into a life of fear and conflict. Eren Yeager, who witnessed his own mother being killed by a Titan, swore vengeance against the entire species. He joined the Survey Corps, a unique military branch dedicated to combating Titans outside the city limits. Together with his adopted sister Mikasa Ackerman and childhood friend Armin Arlert, they uncover increasingly horrifying secrets about the Titans as each mystery is revealed.
In my perspective, few stories can match the pulse-pounding intensity of one where characters are relentlessly battling for survival, pitted against ravenous creatures that gleefully hunger for the annihilation of humankind.
Attack on Titan can be streamed on Crunchyroll.
4) Mob Psycho 100
In a nutshell, the introverted and quiet teenager named Shigeo “Mob” Kageyama doesn’t have many friends because of his reserved demeanor, but he possesses an extraordinary amount of psychic power. After unintentionally hurting his brother, Ritsu, Mob decided to restrain both his emotions and his psychic abilities. However, he sometimes uses his powers to try to win over his crush, Tsubomi Takane. When she loses interest in him due to his repetitive displays of power, Mob strives for better control, leading him to become the apprentice of a fraudulent psychic named Arataka Reigen who exploits Mob’s abilities for financial gain. Despite Mob’s efforts to suppress his emotions and thus his powers, his untapped potential often threatens to let his feelings run wild, pushing him towards an explosion at full power capacity.
Even though I strive to keep my abilities in check by bottling up my feelings, the untamed energy within me yearns to break free and let my emotions take over. It’s like a ticking time bomb ready to burst at full psychic force without any filters. While there’s no shortage of electrifying supernatural encounters, there are also moments that resonate deeply, filled with heartwarming humor that feels as relatable as our everyday lives.
Mob Psycho 100 can be streamed on Netflix, Hulu, and Crunchyroll.

Originally hailing from Iceland, Thorfinn was once given a unique piece of guidance by his father: “No one has enemies; hurting others is never acceptable.” However, when Askeladd murdered his father, Thorfinn chose a path as a mercenary, immersing himself in the harsh realities of vengeance and war. With England and the Danes constantly at odds, these Vikings found wealth and fame in the spoils of war. Reminiscing about stories he heard as a boy from sailors, tales of a land abundant and peaceful where there was no conflict, Thorfinn yearns to find the fabled Vinland.
In the world of Vinland Saga, Vikings primarily exist to wage war. However, Thorfinn battles with a different purpose – he yearns for a reason to keep living beyond just fighting. Despite this, his perspective towards violence undergoes a profound transformation as the narrative unfolds.

However, this tranquility is shattered when he stumbles upon a real cursed artifact, setting off a series of supernatural events. In the secretive rivalry between countries Ostania and Westalis, a spy named Twilight adopts the guise of psychiatrist Loid Forger in Berlint, Ostania’s city, to gather intel on the politician Donovan Desmond. However, Donovan seldom visits his son’s school, Eden Academy, making it challenging for Loid to get close. To bridge this gap, Loid recruits Yor Briar, a single city hall clerk, and Anya, a recently adopted daughter whom he enrolls at Eden Academy, to create an ordinary, content family facade. Ironically, Loid’s newfound family conceals their own hidden truths—Yor is a renowned assassin called “Thorn Princess,” and Anya possesses the power of telepathy, enabling her to read people’s thoughts.
Despite initially presenting themselves as mere pretense, their bonds deepen from covert espionage tasks, contracted assassinations, and shared academic endeavors. Beneath these seemingly superficial connections, a genuine affection for one another blossoms, with each member valuing the fabricated ties they share.

8) Naruto

Instead, he’s set on achieving greatness as the future Hokage, seeking the village’s acknowledgment and admiration. As he journeys through life, making friends and honing his skills as a ninja, Naruto confronts numerous adversaries and battles his own inner demons.
