TLOU 2 gate codes – The full list for Seattle
The following are the access codes for the gates scattered throughout Seattle in The Last of Us Part 2, which Ellie, Dina, and their horse, Shimmer, need to pass through en route into the city.
This version maintains the original structure while using more natural language and adding a bit more clarity about who is traveling together (Ellie, Dina, and Shimmer).
As Ellie, instead of scaling walls to reach the gate controls that require effort, let’s aim for a more straightforward approach.
- North 0 – 1382
- Main Gate – 0451 (A reference to System Shock)
- East 2 – 5345
- West 1 – 6128
- West 2 – 0541 (The gate doesn’t work but it’s used as the code for the safe next to it)
- East 1 – Dina finds this code and this happens as part of the story
If you’re seeking additional details about self-opening gate codes, we’ve provided a step-by-step guide below to help you discover the codes independently.
How to open the main Seattle gate in The Last of Us Part 2
The first gate has to be opened from the other side, so climb up this truck and onto the cabin.
Starting from the cabin, make a leap towards the holding pens, followed by another jump onto the ledge hanging over, and finally, ascend the ladder on that roof.
Once up, make your way across. Make sure not to lose your balance.
Once across, climb over the wall and walk along the gangway to the watchtower.
There is some extra loot at the top of the watchtower, so be sure to grab it and then head down.
Once down, use a bottle or a brick to smash the window of the portable cabin and climb through.
A list containing all gate codes and details about fuel locations can be found in a drawer near the entrance – something useful for future reference. Meanwhile, go outside and activate the generator.
Next, take the cable through to the gate, plug it in and turn it on.
After opening the gate, disconnect the cable and then head back to the generator, tossing it over the fence towards the other portable cabin as you go.
Go ahead and pass through the gate, get the cable there, connect it to the power inlet on your portable cabin, and afterwards, step inside.
Please input the code ‘0512’ on the control panel at the gate to let Dina pass through.

How to open Gate East 2 in The Last of Us Part 2
Next on our list is Gate East 2, however, the generator connected to it is out of fuel. Therefore, we’ll need to explore Downtown Seattle to locate some.
At the end of the code-listed document, a note indicates that you can find the fuel storage either in the Dome or the Courthouse parking lot.
In downtown Seattle, there’s no shortage of exciting spots to discover and valuable treasures to uncover, including weapons like a shotgun. However, if you’re eager to move forward with the narrative, make your way to the Courthouse, situated at the upper-left corner on your map.
To enter the Courthouse, you’ll have to ascend a checkpoint situated on the south side of the building and gain access through a window.
Inside, there are infected to deal with.
Once the infected have been dealt with, slip past a pair of doors blocked by a bookshelf and descend the stairway to reach ground level instead.
In this lobby, you’ll find an exposed elevator well that requires descent. Jump over it when necessary, grasp the cable, then slide down smoothly.
Or more casually:
In this lobby, there’s a big open hole where an elevator usually is. You need to get down there. When needed, leap across it, hold onto the cable, and lower yourself safely.
This directs us to a parking structure, inhabited by some unfriendly, infected individuals who require attention.
After dealing with the infected individuals, make your way towards the fuel tank located to the right side of the garage doors and extract some gasoline from it.
Next, open the garage door with a chain that is found to the left of it.
With the fuel, return to Gate East 2 and enter the code: 5345.
How to open Gate East 1 in The Last of Us Part 2
Riding past the Serevena Hotel, you will come to Gate East 1 which you don’t have a code for.
To locate the code, we need to explore the hotel by scaling the dumpster, jumping over the fence, and heading straight towards the entrance.
Inside, predictably, there are infected in the way that require your attention.
Once the affected individuals have been dealt with, proceed towards the door located on the right side of the reception area, then unlock the pipe that’s securing it.
After that, ascend the staircase, proceed down the corridor until you reach its end, then locate the shut door and walk through it.
As soon as you enter the room, a cutscene unfolds, revealing that the gate code is scrawled in blood on the floor.
After the cutscene, head out through the open window and hop down.
Head back to the gate and start the generator. Dina will take care of the code
