Throughout his travels and battles within the God of War series, it appears that Kratos’ story may conclude in God of War: Ragnarok; however, the creators at Santa Monica Studios have more in store for the bearded Greek deity. Fans are overjoyed about this news, as they eagerly anticipate new information about the game. Various updates and tidbits about the series have been shared, some confirmed and others speculative, such as a potential free gift tied to a PSN account, a rumored game set in Egypt, and the shelving of a live-service God of War game. Concerning the complimentary rewards for God of War: Ragnarok, Santa Monica Studios has unveiled the official patch notes for this update.
On January 30th, an update for the game “God of War: Ragnarok” rolled out, introducing enhancements to the Edit Appearance Function and adding the Black Bear Set to players’ options.
Here is everything included in the update:
Update to the Edit Appearance Feature (AKA Transmog System)
From the onset of the game, both PlayStation and PC gamers will find that they can use the Edit Appearance feature (also known as the Transmog system) without needing their equipment to reach level 9 first.
Armor of the Black Bear Set
Updated PS4 & PS5 Access to the Armor of the Black Bear Set
Following the latest update, players using both PlayStation 4 and PlayStation 5 consoles can acquire the Armor of the Black Bear set without needing a New Game Plus save. You’ll find this armor in the first discoverable Lost Items chest within newly started or ongoing game saves.
PlayStation Network Sign-in Bonus on PC
When logging into your PlayStation Network account while playing God of War Ragnarök on PC, you’ll unlock the Armor of the Black Bear set for Kratos at the initial Misplaced Items chest within the Realm Between Realms (a feature previously available only during a New Game+ playthrough), as well as a collection of resources.
This set includes:
- Cloak of the Black Bear (Chest)
- Wraps of the Black Bear (Wrist)
- Belt of the Black Bear (Waist)
The resource bundle includes:
- 500 Hacksilver
- 250 XP
Players who have started the game can now open the Mystery Loot Box to claim their rewards. Furthermore, Santa Monica Studios has clarified that gamers can obtain the Armor of the Black Bear set even without a PlayStation Network account when they play on New Game+. In the upcoming God of War: Ragnarok, signing into the PlayStation Network will no longer be compulsory if you’re playing on PC, which has been met with relief by many due to the previous requirement causing controversy.
If you haven’t yet experienced the thrill of playing “God of War: Ragnarok,” whether on your PC or PlayStation, now might be the ideal moment to dive in. It has just been included in the PlayStation Plus collection, so if you’re a subscriber, you can download and play it free of charge. Both “God of War” and “God of War: Ragnarok” are highly praised games, making them an excellent choice for those seeking their next series. You can enjoy both titles on PlayStation 5, PlayStation 4, or PC.
