In July, the world’s top racers will be roaring their engines at the legendary Silverstone racing track, famous for its 18 challenging bends, with The Loop, a well-known hairpin, being one of them.
2023’s Formula One season signifies the 75th milestone year for this thrilling sport, commencing back in February with an extraordinary live debut event held at the iconic O2 Arena.
Silverstone marks the 12th event on the calendar, yet anticipation remains high for several reasons, including the highly-awaited first appearance of Lewis Hamilton driving the legendary ruby red Ferrari.
Previously, a British racer triumphed at his native track, edging past the current world champion, Max Verstappen. However, as we move forward to this year, it’s likely that the annals of racing history will once again be rewritten.
As a seasoned film buff who’s always ready for the next blockbuster, I thought it fitting to share some insights on securing tickets for the thrilling spectacle that is the British Grand Prix. The event spans over three consecutive days:
1. On the first day (July 4th), there are free practice sessions.

Additionally, tickets are now available for Thursday, however this experience only includes a walk along the pitlane and no actual racing events.
How long does the British Grand Prix last?
At the British Grand Prix, there are 52 laps covering approximately 190 miles in total. Typically, this event spans anywhere from 90 minutes to about two hours, with the duration varying based on whether safety vehicles are deployed.

As a devoted moviegoer and Formula One enthusiast, I must confess that the cost of British Grand Prix tickets is nothing short of eye-watering. The prices vary significantly, from a steep £99 for a solitary day’s viewing to a whopping £349 for the entire weekend extravaganza.
On Fridays, you can secure your booking for just £99, and children under 11 years old get a free pass. The price for Saturday increases to £159. If you wish to attend on the race day, it will cost you £279 from the start.

When do British Grand Prix tickets go on sale?

On Thursday, the 26th of September, I found myself excitedly heading to the official Silverstone website to grab some tickets for the British Grand Prix. As of now, there are still general admission passes up for grabs, but I can sense that they won’t last long once the F1 season resumes.
How to get British Grand Prix tickets
At this moment, general admission tickets are still on sale through the Silverstone website. You can purchase tickets for standing areas, Grandstand, and Enclosures. However, be mindful that ticket sales may surge when the F1 season resumes, so don’t wait too long if you wish to secure your spot!
Enjoy the race!
If the preferred seats are unavailable or if you’d prefer a touch of elegance during your visit, we highly recommend exploring hospitality options. While prices are certainly higher, it’s worth considering given that you’re already planning to spend quite a bit. This option guarantees comfortable seating and offers exclusive privileges such as lounge access, premium viewing spots, and additional dining and refreshment facilities.
At the most affordable prices, you’ll find hospitality offers through our official partner, Motorsport Tickets. Alternatively, you might want to explore packages from Seat Unique and P1 Travel as well.
