Although the Aedyr Empire wasn’t outright oppressive or tyrannical, it had stringent values and norms that its citizens were expected to adhere to. Those who didn’t conform to these standards often felt like they didn’t fit in. Consequently, some residents of the Aedyr Empire opted to leave their homeland behind, seeking a new beginning within the welcoming confines of Paradis.
Paradis is significantly important among the primary settings in the game, as it features prominently not only in the main narrative but also in its conclusion.
Paradis’ Dark Reality
For numerous individuals, the envisioned paradise of Paradis remained merely a dream. Although early settlers in Paradis successfully cultivated an ideal existence, latecomers have a dramatically contrasting account. Notorious groups such as the Sparrowhawks freely operate on the city streets of Paradis, engaging in activities like smuggling goods, mugging passersby, and committing the occasional murder.
