As a seasoned gamer with decades of experience under my belt, I must say that the PC requirements for Until Dawn‘s remake have left me both impressed and slightly apprehensive. Impressed, because it’s clear that Ballistic Moon is aiming for nothing less than graphical excellence. Apprehensive, because my current rig might as well be a horse-drawn cart next to these modern marvels!
Prior to its upcoming release within a few weeks, Ballistic Moon has disclosed the system specifications required for the remake of Until Dawn. Essential from the start, each setup must run on Windows 10 or 11 and require approximately 70 GB of storage space on a solid-state drive.
Minimum requirements include an Intel Core i7 4790K or AMD Ryzen 5 1500X, 8 GB of RAM, and an Nvidia GeForce GTX 1660, an AMD Radeon RX 470 or an equivalent card with 6 GB V RAM for 720p/30 FPS on Low settings. Medium settings at 1080p/60 FPS require a Core i5 8600 or Ryzen 7 2700X, 16 GB RAM and anGeForce RTX 2060 or Radeon RX 6600XT.
High and Ultra settings are where an NVMe SSD is mandatory. For the former at 1440p/60 FPS or 4K/30 FPS at High settings, you need a Core i5 8600 or Ryzen 7 2700X, 16 GB of RAM and a GeForce RTX 3080 or Radeon RX 6800XT. The latter offers Very High settings at 4K/60 FPS if you have a Core i7 11700K or Ryzen 7 5800X3D, 16 GB RAM, and a GeForce RTX 3080 Ti or Radeon RX 6900XT.
