The Snipping Tool within Windows 11 is edging nearer to an improvement, with text extraction support via the capture bar now being tested among Windows Insiders in the Dev and Canary channels.
Following the recent upgrade, the Text Extractor is now housed within the Snipping Tool’s toolbar. This innovative addition allows users to choose an area for text extraction.
As a tech enthusiast, I’d often find myself in situations where I need more control over my copied text. You can either opt to copy all the text within a selected area, or delve deeper by clicking on the “More options” menu. This menu offers additional controls such as stripping out line breaks from the copied text, or even having the Snipping Tool automatically grab text from the selection for you.
In the latest version, Microsoft has integrated a text extraction feature directly into the Snipping Tool’s toolbar, making it simpler and more efficient to copy text from your screen straight to your clipboard without needing to capture an entire screenshot first.
Firstly, let’s begin: You can either use the keyboard shortcut Win + Shift + S or directly open the Snipping Tool and hit the “Text Extractor” button located on the toolbar to start using it.
The Text Extraction tool, which has been part of the Snipping Tool for more than a year, can now be accessed more conveniently. Earlier, users needed to utilize the Snipping Tool editor to activate the Text Extraction feature.
