As a seasoned gamer and horror enthusiast with decades of experience under my belt, I can confidently say that the upcoming V/H/S/BEYOND is shaping up to be a chilling addition to the found footage franchise. With its sci-fi horror focus and promising lineup of segments, it’s clear that the creators are pushing the boundaries of what we’ve come to expect from this series.

In approximately a week, the latest addition to the highly regarded V/H/S anthology series will be unveiled. This popular franchise in the found footage genre has been providing spine-tingling tales from emerging horror filmmakers for quite some time now. The 2024 installment of this series is called V/H/S/BEYOND, and it emphasizes science fiction horror narratives heavily.

On October 4th, Shudder will exclusively premiere “V/H/S/BEYOND”, and to excite fans, they have unveiled a sneak peek of what’s to come. Yesterday, they released the official “V/H/S/BEYOND” trailer, which you can watch in the video below!

The movie titled “BEYOND” represents the seventh installment in the continuously expanding V/H/S series, which commenced back in 2012. Since Shudder became part of the franchise, a new chapter has been released annually. The latest additions to the collection include “V/H/S/94” (released in 2021), “V/H/S/99”, “V/H/S/85”, and now “BEYOND”. This upcoming production will feature six distinct segments, each created by a different team of filmmakers.

Here’s the complete lineup of segments included in V/H/S/BEYOND, as well as their creative teams:

  • “Stork”: Directed by Jordan Downey, Screenplay by Downey & Kevin Stewart
  • “Fur Babies”: Written and Directed by Christian Long & Justin Long
  • “Live and Let Dive”: Directed by Justin Martinez, Story by Martinez & Ben Turner, Screenplay by Ben Turner
  • “Dream Girl”: Directed by Virat Pal, Written by Pal and Evan Dickson
  • “Stowaway”: Directed by Kate Siegel, Written by Mike Flanagan

This year’s roster features Kate Siegel and Mike Flanagan as the main act, a husband-wife duo who have collaborated frequently throughout their careers. Typically, Siegel stars in films penned and helmed by Flanagan; this time around, she is stepping into the director’s role.

Through a series of seven films, several renowned horror directors have significantly contributed to the V/H/S cinematic universe. The first installment featured Ti West, director of “X” and “Pearl”, Adam Wingard, who has directed “The Guest” and “Godzilla vs. Kong”, and Radio Silence, a film collective behind “Ready or Not” and the latest two “Scream” films. Other V/H/S contributors include Justin Benson and Aaron Moorhead, directors of “Moon Knight”, Eduardo Sanchez from “The Blair Witch Project”, and Scott Derrickson, director of “The Black Phone”.
