The developer of the game “Vampire Survivors“, known as Poncle, has recently rolled out a significant update in the form of a hotfix. This update introduces an account system for the Nintendo Switch version, which is exciting news for players! Now, cross-saves are possible with other versions, making it convenient for those who bought the Nintendo Switch version after discovering the game on Xbox Game Pass, or for those who enjoy playing “Vampire Survivors” across multiple platforms. Cross-saving is not a common feature in many games, but with this update, “Vampire Survivors” joins the list and it’s great to know that data can be transferred between different platforms, enhancing the overall gaming experience.
Unfortunately, there’s a snag with this update: Cross-saves have been added, but they are not accessible in the PlayStation version of Vampire Survivors. Initially, Poncle intended to include cross-saves on PlayStation too, but their plans have shifted. Earlier this year, the company mentioned they encountered an unexpected legal issue on PlayStation that they weren’t aware of before. Although Poncle hasn’t completely ruled out implementing the feature later, the chances are now quite slim.
Apart from introducing cross-save functionality for Vampire Survivors on Nintendo Switch, the developers at Poncle have also taken this chance to rectify some other issues specific to the platform. One of the key improvements is addressing crash problems linked with the game’s latest DLC expansion. This upgrade should bring relief and excitement to players. You can find all the details about the changes in the game’s official Discord under ‘patch notes’.

Currently, it’s uncertain if Poncle will manage to reach an accord with PlayStation to activate cross-saves on their platform. Previously, other game developers have mentioned troubles with implementing cross-saves on PlayStation systems. For instance, in 2023, Disney Dreamlight Valley developer Gameloft informed fans that Sony had prevented cross-saves from being activated on PS4 and PS5. After a wait of two years, the feature will be introduced to PlayStation platforms next week. Here’s hoping Poncle can achieve something similar with Sony, without making gamers wait another two years for this issue to be resolved!
