It turns out that the developer of “Vampire Survivors”, Poncle, has shared some disappointing news: the PS4 and PS5 versions of the game won’t support cross-save functionality. The feature was intended to be added in an update due this month, but unfortunately, it seems that technical issues with the company have prevented this from happening on PlayStation platforms.
On a post within social media platform X, Poncle clarified that the hurdle in implementing the cross-save feature stems from the developer being required to disclose the details of their collaborative partners. As a result, the likelihood of this feature becoming available on PS4 and PS5 has significantly decreased.
Regrettably, we have to inform you that the Cross-Save feature for the game Vampire Survivors will not be introduced on PlayStation 4/5 with our upcoming update.”
Previously, we had shared that Cross-Save functionality would be accessible on PlayStation 4/5, PC, Xbox, Android, and iOS devices in conjunction with the next free Vampire Survivors update scheduled for April.
As a gamer, I regret to inform you that at the eleventh hour, we’ve encountered a legal predicament on PlayStation which we didn’t foresee. This situation necessitates us to disclose information about our partners, something we can’t comply with. Consequently, the likelihood of Cross-Save becoming available on PlayStation consoles has significantly diminished.
Nevertheless, Poncle acknowledges that there’s still a chance. Consequently, they are persistently collaborating with PlayStation to resolve the arising problems.
Apologies for any excitement we may have caused about this PlayStation feature, but unfortunately, our plans have had to change at the very end.
Although challenges have arisen when implementing cross-save for PS4 and PS5, other platforms such as PC, Xbox, Android, iOS, and even Vampire Survivors on Nintendo Switch are set to receive this feature in an upcoming update within a few weeks. The Nintendo Switch version’s update will follow at a later time. There’s also the possibility that Apple Arcade might receive cross-save too.
In August 2024, both the PS4 and PS5 versions of “Vampire Survivors” hit the shelves, not just the main game but also all its additional content in the form of DLC.
In a recent development, the latest Downloadable Content (DLC) for the game “Vampire Survivors” was titled “Ode to Castlevania.” This collaboration between Poncle and Konami introduced characters, adversaries, and weapons reminiscent of the “Castlevania” series within the game. The DLC was made available in November. For a comprehensive look at this release, including a trailer, please refer to our coverage for further details.
It appears that at the eleventh hour, a legal problem regarding PlayStation has surfaced which we were previously unaware of. This issue necessitates us to disclose information about our partners, but we cannot do so, making it extremely unlikely for Cross-Save to be implemented on PlayStation consoles.

In the coming weeks, Cross-Save functionality is set to become accessible across PC, Xbox, Android, and iOS platforms. The Nintendo Switch will join them later, while integration with Apple Arcade is planned, provided it doesn’t violate any privacy agreements.
