Today during the Triple-i Initiative livestream, Poncle Games unveiled a fresh partnership for the game Vampire Survivors. In this instance, the game will merge with SaGa, a series owned by Square Enix. The associated content can be found in the new expansion called Emerald Diorama. Even if you’re not well-versed in the RPG series, there’s plenty to anticipate, such as “new experiences” that are being introduced both to the main game and the Tides of the Foscari DLC. The most exciting aspect is that all this content is accessible right now, and it’s free for everyone!
In the upcoming expansion called “Emerald Diorama,” you’ll encounter over a dozen fresh playable characters, nearly two dozen new weapons, nine distinctive music tracks, and an intriguing map featuring seven unique biomes. The game, Vampire Survivors, will also hark back to its RPG roots by enabling players to embark on their journey with a party. Although the specifics of this feature are yet to be revealed, eager fans can soon experience it firsthand. A sneak peek at the “Emerald Diorama” update is available below in the provided trailer.
In the past month, Poncle Games hinted that the upcoming update for Vampire Survivors would be its largest free upgrade yet, and it appears they weren’t exaggerating. The Coop update has been launched today, focusing on a poultry theme. This update introduces a new character, weapon, and darkana. Players will also notice a new map, which seems to be modeled after a farm setting. There is a new relic included as well, enabling players to accelerate the game. Achievement hunters can look forward to 8 fresh challenges. The main game now includes an adventure titled “To End an Ice Age,” consisting of 6 new chapters. Those who own the Tides of the Foscari DLC will receive an additional 6 chapters for that expansion as well.
Beyond the recent updates, Poncle Games has shared some insights about their cross-save feature. The feature is expected to roll out in a couple of weeks across Xbox, PC, Android, and iOS platforms. However, the Nintendo Switch version is still under development and will be released at a later time. Initially, Poncle intended to incorporate cross-saves in the PS4 and PS5 versions of their game, but unfortunately, they’ve encountered an unexpected legal hurdle on PlayStation that they were unaware of. As a result, the likelihood of implementing cross-saves on both PS4 and PS5 is quite low now.
According to Poncle, they are persisting in their collaboration with PlayStation to sort out the ongoing predicament. While details about the problems are scarce, this isn’t the first time a developer has faced challenges when it comes to implementing cross-saves on Sony systems. Let’s hope that Vampire Survivors can find a solution, but it may take some time before we see any progress.
