After a series of waits, it’s been announced that the eagerly anticipated game, Vampire: The Masquerade – Bloodlines 2, is facing another postponement. Instead, expect its release in October 2025.
As a fervent admirer of The Chinese Room’s creations, I’m thrilled to share that we’ve received a fresh update about our beloved game directly from them, in partnership with Paradox Interactive. While they’re not ready to disclose the exact release date just yet, rest assured it’ll be revealed at some point down the line.
You can check out the update and snippets of gameplay footage in the video below:
According to Marco Behrman, executive vice president of the World of Darkness IP, the game is complete at this point. Currently, the team is working on ironing out bugs, ensuring stability, and enhancing performance. Their aim is to provide an optimal gaming experience for everyone when it eventually launches.
The video game ‘Vampire: The Masquerade – Bloodlines 2‘ has experienced a lengthy journey to release, initially being developed by Hardsuit Labs before getting postponed beyond 2021. Later on, Paradox Interactive declared that Hardsuit Labs would no longer be in charge of the development.
Peace reigned for quite some time until it was officially announced that The Chinese Room had taken over the game’s development of Bloodlines 2, significantly overhauling various elements such as the protagonist and several other aspects, all while maintaining the Seattle backdrop.
The game was then planned to launch at some point last year, before being delayed out of 2024.
In Vampire: The Masquerade – Bloodlines 2, gamers assume the character of Phyre, an ancient vampire who mysteriously resurfaces in Seattle following a long absence. As events unfold, Phyre becomes entangled in the intricate web of schemes orchestrated by the city’s inhabitants amidst a massive snowstorm that envelops Seattle in a thick layer of snow.
The game “Vampire: The Masquerade – Bloodlines 2” is set to release on Xbox Series X|S, Windows PC (via Steam, GOG, and Epic Games Store), and PlayStation 5. Whether it will be counted among the top games on these platforms remains to be seen.
