Vampire: The Masquerade – Bloodlines 2 Has Been Delayed to First Half of 2025

As a dedicated fan who’s been eagerly awaiting the return of “Vampire: The Masquerade – Bloodlines 2“, I can’t help but feel a mix of emotions upon hearing the news of another delay. On one hand, I understand the need for developers to take their time and deliver a high-quality product. After all, I’ve been through enough disappointments in my gaming life to know that a well-polished game is worth the wait.

Last year when “Vampire: The Masquerade – Bloodlines 2” was re-assigned to The Chinese Room as its developer and given a release window for fall 2024 by publisher Paradox Interactive, there was an expression of high confidence that it wouldn’t be delayed further. However, as some might have anticipated, the game has indeed been postponed.

According to recent news, developers Paradox Interactive and The Chinese Room have pushed back the release date for “Vampire: The Masquerade – Bloodlines 2”. The game is now expected to come out sometime during the first half of 2025.

According to Matias Lilia, deputy CEO of Paradox, along with The Chinese Room, we’ve chosen to expand the development phase. This move grants The Chinese Room additional time to work on Bloodlines 2, ensuring they can produce the best possible version of the game. At present, the game is progressing well, and both Paradox and The Chinese Room have opted to focus more on perfecting the details rather than rushing towards a release date.

As a devoted fan, I’m thrilled to share that, according to Creative Director Alexander Skidmore, “Bloodlines 2” is now in its final production stage. The team at The Chinese Room is primarily dedicating their efforts towards refining and perfecting the game. This extra development time allows them to concentrate more on polishing and optimizing the game, as well as incorporating elements they wouldn’t have been able to otherwise, such as adding multiple endings to the game for a richer gaming experience.

At The Chinese Room, our team intends to utilize this period effectively by fine-tuning and enhancing quality, as Skidmore explains. This will enable some team members to start ahead of schedule, opening up opportunities for them to explore projects we’ve been eager to pursue but hadn’t had the time for previously. For instance, we can now incorporate additional game endings, thereby enriching the narrative and making the story more intimate and unique.

“Extra time gives us an opportunity to consider feedback from gameplay tests conducted in our research lab, as well as feedback received through our developer diaries and videos.”

Next year, you’ll be able to play the game “Vampire: The Masquerade – Bloodlines 2” on PlayStation 5, Xbox Series X/S, and personal computers when it becomes available for purchase.
