As a devoted fan of Vanderpump Rules, I’ve been following James Kennedy’s journey for quite some time now, and it’s been nothing short of rollercoaster ride. This latest turn of events, his arrest on domestic violence charges, is certainly one of the more unsettling twists in the series.
James Kennedy had a run-in with the law this week.
On December 10th, a cast member from the show “Vanderpump Rules” was taken into custody for allegedly committing a domestic violence offense. This information has been verified by TopMob News.
Based on reports from the Burbank Police Department, officers were dispatched to a residence around 11:30 p.m., following a call about a verbal dispute between James and an unidentified female. Upon investigation, they confirmed it was indeed a domestic altercation and escorted the DJ to the police station for further handling.
Initially, James was arrested for a minor charge related to domestic violence. Later on, he managed to secure his release on bail. Currently, the official charges against him are being examined by the legal team in the Burbank City Attorney’s Office.
TopMob News has reached out to James’ rep for comment and has not heard back.
That evening, it’s not certain who else was present at the incident. However, James and his girlfriend Ally Lewber, together for close to two years, were among the attendees at Kathy Hilton’s DIRECTV holiday party in Beverly Hills, along with numerous other Bravo personalities.
James’ recent arrest coincides with Bravo’s announcement, made only a few weeks ago, that they will be replacing the existing cast members on Vanderpump Rules for their upcoming 12th season and introducing a fresh group of SUR staff instead.

Just last week, Ally—who joined VPR season 10 in 2022 when she started dating the musician—shed more insight into how James was dealing with the difficult change.
She shared with Us Weekly on December 3rd that he was heading to the gym and carrying on as usual, but she sensed he was feeling a bit down. She further mentioned that James was going through a period of mourning.
She remarked, “He likely exclaimed something like ‘Wow, that was wild!’ She continued, explaining that this particular phase of his life was both intense and pivotal. I believe he takes immense pride in his progress – I’m sure of it – comparing his current state to the beginning of the show. So, I feel it’s a mix of gratitude, reflection, and wonder, as if saying, ‘Geez, we pulled that off, and now we can advance.’
