As an avid follower of Vanessa Lachey‘s career, I must say her journey has been nothing short of inspiring. From her humble beginnings as a military brat to gracing our screens as the first female lead in the NCIS franchise, she embodies the spirit of determination and resilience.

Vanessa Lachey is saying aloha to the islands.

After the termination of her television series NCIS: Hawai’i following three seasons, Vanessa and her husband Nick Lachey, along with their children Camden (11), Brooklyn (9), and Phoenix (7), are departing Hawaii and saying a heartfelt goodbye to the beautiful tropical haven.

In a post on Instagram on August 13th, Vanessa expressed, “Home is where the heart is,” accompanied by pictures of her family enjoying the ocean view in Hawaii. She fondly added, “Hawaii, you will forever hold a piece of my heart! Thank you immensely for providing us with three wonderful, enchanting years.”

She added, “Now, on to the next adventure. Off into the sunset we go! #LacheyPartyOf5 #AlohaSpirit”

Since 2021, Vanessa has portrayed team leader Jane Tennant on the TV show “NCIS”. She expressed being upset, bewildered, and taken aback when the series got cancelled in April, which she shared on her Instagram Stories at that time.

As a lifestyle expert looking back on my journey, I recently found myself revisiting the very set where I filmed the first episode of TRL. In a heartfelt post on Instagram last May, I penned down my thoughts: “It becomes apparent… we’re not meant to stay here indefinitely; we’re borrowing time. We cherish what we’ve been given and use it wisely, leaving it improved for the next dreamer who will carry on our legacy.”

She went on to express her hope that everyone in her team and acting group would recall the beauty of our shared experience. We’ll carry this spirit of Aloha with us wherever we journey next.

Instead, although she regretted not having a formal farewell, she remained grateful for the occasion they shared.

Instead of saying “Good-bye” in Hawaii, she shared that they use “A Hui Hou,” which translates to “until we meet again.” This sentiment goes out to everyone, but particularly to her cherished fans… Until we meet again.

Born in the Philippines and following her father’s military career across various countries, Vanessa became proud of being the first female lead in the NCIS franchise. In an interview with TopMob News in April, she expressed that this achievement was something she never dared to dream about but now realizes it is everything she has ever desired.

As an AAPI woman, wife, mother, colleague, and friend, I’ve never felt prouder than I am now for having portrayed Jane Tennant on TV. This incredible journey has instilled in me a determination to keep breaking barriers and shattering glass ceilings. I wholeheartedly invite everyone reading this to join me in pushing boundaries and striving for greatness!
