Despite Sony’s Spider-Man Universe temporarily taking a break, actor Cristo Fernández continues to harbor aspirations of joining the Marvel Cinematic Universe. Presently, he’s busy promoting his role in “Sonic the Hedgehog 3,” but during an interview with ComicBook, he shared some thoughts about his debut in the superhero realm. In “Spider-Man: No Way Home” and “Venom: The Last Dance,” Fernández portrayed a bartender serving drinks to Eddie Brock in Mexico. He’s eagerly waiting for an opportunity where his character can serve more super-powered patrons in the future.
On coming back to the MCU,” Fernández expressed, “I’m optimistic. If the decision were mine, I’d approve it without hesitation. I’d love for that bartender character to transform into a superhero mixologist, serving extraordinary margaritas and cocktails.
If Fernández hasn’t shared any details about the future of his character, he’s doing a great job at keeping it under wraps. In fact, he mentioned that his entire acting journey continues to feel like a dream, and he cherishes every moment of it.
Once more, I’m incredibly thankful,” he expressed. “It’s astonishing – truth be told, I didn’t envision myself becoming an actor; I was a football player. Yet, here I am associated with characters like Spider-Man, Venom, Sonic, Transformers – these were the video games, toys, and playthings of my childhood. That’s why I emphasize the importance of dreaming. It’s beneficial to strive for your dreams, but you never truly know where your dreams might lead you.
As a film enthusiast myself, I can’t help but admire the growing stardom of Fernández, who has caught the eye of Marvel Studios. However, it’s not an easy task to weave a bartender from another dimension into their stories. Yet, with the intricate structure of the Multiverse Saga, it’s evident that actors can be re-cast, as demonstrated by Robert Downey Jr.’s return. At present, there’s no clear indication that Fernández is being considered for any other roles. But his eagerness and passion for acting certainly speak volumes.
Regardless of the MCU, it’s evident that Fernández is merely embarking on an illustrious A-list career path. Fresh off his popular portrayal of Dani Rojas in Ted Lasso, he has additionally taken on roles in Transformers: Rise of the Beasts and Sonic the Hedgehog 3, which can now be rented or purchased digitally.
