Venom Star Tom Hardy Wreaks Havoc in New Netflix Movie (And You Can Watch It Soon)

Despite wrapping up the Venom trilogy last year with “Venom: The Last Dance,” Tom Hardy continues to play the role of a formidable protector. Currently, he’s starring as a mob family troubleshooter in the Guy Ritchie-produced series “MobLand” on Paramount+. In his upcoming project, titled “HAVOC,” he portrays a weary police detective who steps beyond the bounds of law enforcement to enforce justice himself.

Netflix has unveiled a high-octane preview for the upcoming film starring Tom Hardy, directed by Gareth Evans – a renowned filmmaker for his bone-jarring movie “The Raid” and gritty crime series “Gangs of London“. Check out the freshly released trailer for “HAVOC“, an action-packed thriller, before it premieres on Netflix on April 25.

This action-packed movie focuses on character Walker (Hardy), a beleaguered detective navigating treacherous criminal elements that menace his city. Following a botched drug transaction, Walker finds himself pursued by various factions, such as a vindictive crime network, a corrupt official, and even his own colleagues. In an effort to save the politician’s wayward son, whose connection to the deal begins to reveal layers of corruption and intrigue, Walker is compelled to tackle the ghosts from his past.

The main actor from “Mad Max: Fury Road” heads a talented ensemble featuring Forest Whitaker, known for “Rogue One: A Star Wars Story,” Timothy Olyphant of “Justified,” Jessie Mei Li from “Last Night in Soho,” Justin Cornwell (“Bel-Air”), Luis Guzmán (“Beverly Hills Cop: Axel F”), Yeo Yann Yann (“American Born Chinese”), Xelia Mendes-Jones (“Fallout”), and UFC combatant Michelle Waterson.

As I shared with Empire Magazine, Hardy’s Detective Walker, in a disillusioned state, is more than just a seasoned homicide detective; he’s a man morally grappling with the complexities of his profession. Two days before Christmas, he yearns for nothing more than to find the perfect gifts for his daughter and mend the strained connections within his family.

However, when Mayor Lawrence Beaumont’s (Whitaker) son, Charlie (Cornwell), instigates a city-wide gang conflict and is labeled as public enemy zero, the mayor compels Walker to embark on a perilous assignment: locate Charlie and his girlfriend Mia (Quelin Sepulveda) before the city’s criminal groups can exact their revenge. Included among these groups is The Assassin (Waterson).

In the trailer, Walker finds himself facing a chilling warning from Mayor Beaumont of Whitaker: “One call from me, and your life could be over.” He subtly reminds Walker, “Remember, I’m aware of your actions.

“You have no idea what I did,” Walker shoots back.

In this movie, “every character seems to operate in a moral gray area,” according to Evans. “This story follows a team of police officers pursuing Charlie and Mia, possibly for arrest, but potentially they might resort to taking matters into their own hands outside the law.

HAVOC is streaming April 25 only on Netflix.
