Venom Turns His “We Are Venom” Catchphrase Into a Family Feud (Exclusive)

As a seasoned gamer and comic book enthusiast with over two decades of immersion in the Marvel Universe, I must say that the ongoing Venom War has truly taken my breath away! The father-son feud between Eddie Brock and Dylan Brock for possession of the alien symbiote is a captivating twist that keeps me on the edge of my seat.

In the imminent issue of Venom War, a bitter family dispute erupts. This Venom-focused series sets father against son as Eddie Brock and his son Dylan engage in a struggle for control over the extraterrestrial symbiote. As the story progresses in Venom War, we’ve witnessed Spider-Man reconnect with the Venom symbiote, while Carnage has forged a precarious partnership with Meridius – an evil future iteration of Eddie Brock. During their alliance, Meridius summoned hordes of zombiotes to overrun New York City, prompting Spidey, Eddie, and Dylan to engage in a fierce battle royale within a wrestling ring. Rather than being forced to pick between Eddie and Dylan, the Venom symbiote has chosen to divide itself amongst the two, resulting in an alliance against another wicked incarnation of Eddie Brock.

In an exclusive peek at issue #4 of “Venom War,” penned by Al Ewing with art by Iban Coello, Frank D’Armata, and Ariana Maher (lettering), we delve into the heart of the Grand Garden Arena, where the Venom War is reaching its boiling point. Previously mentioned villain Bedlam, another incarnation of Eddie Brock, confronts Spider-Man, who has recently lost his Venom symbiote. As our hero prepares to aid someone else, Bedlam hatches a different scheme. Fortunately, Eddie and Dylan Brock step in, each bearing the shared burden of the symbiote.

In simpler terms, the thoughts of the symbiote reveal its connection to Eddie. It describes their relationship as two hearts beating harmoniously, stating, “At last, we’ve become a complete family.” Eddie’s heartbeat sounds like a low rumble, while Dylan’s is more dynamic, reminiscent of a drum solo. As the preview concludes, Venom expresses pride, using “We” to refer to both Eddie and itself, stating, “I am so proud of him,” but quickly correcting to say, “We are so proud of him.” Later, Dylan seems to decapitate Bedlam.

In the battle between Venoms and Zombiotes, the intensity escalates as the danger from the undead horde increases to an unignorable level! However, just because one competitor in the fight for control of the Venom symbiote is eliminated doesn’t mean the war has come to a close…

As a diehard gamer, I was absolutely thrilled when New York Comic Con unveiled some tantalizing glimpses into the aftermath of the Venom War. It looks like there are two fresh additions to the roster: All-New Venom and Eddie Brock: Carnage. The former seems to have a new, enigmatic figure taking control of the Venom symbiote, while the latter promises an exciting debut for Eddie teaming up with the terrifying Carnage. Can’t wait to dive back into this thrilling universe!

The exclusive preview of Venom War #4 is below. The issue goes on sale Wednesday, November 6th.
