Vinnie Jones makes theatre debut in Only Fools and Horses Musical

As a seasoned theater-goer who’s seen his fair share of stage performances and blockbuster films, I must admit that the news of Vinnie Jones stepping into the world of musical theatre is nothing short of intriguing. Known for his hard-hitting roles in movies like Lock, Stock and Two Smoking Barrels and The Gentlemen, and even a cameo in She’s The Man, it’s a welcome surprise to see Jones swap his hobnail boots for dancing shoes.

This Christmas season, Vinnie Jones will be polishing his voice and trading his tough boots for dancing shoes, as he steps onto the stage for the first time in “Only Fools and Horses” the Musical.

Known most notably for roles in films like “Lock, Stock and Two Smoking Barrels”, “The Gentlemen” on Netflix, and “She’s The Man”, this former footballer with a rugged image is aiming to make his mark on the London theatre scene now.

For a brief period, Jones takes on the role of Danny Driscoll, with Paul Whitehouse portraying Grandad, in this timeless musical production. Additionally, Sam Lupton and Tom Major will be playing Del Boy and Rodney respectively.

In simpler terms, Jones shared that he’s been a lifelong fan of Only Fools and Horses, and when his longtime friend Phil McIntyre proposed the idea of him portraying Danny Driscoll, he immediately accepted.

I find the director, CJay Ranger, and her imaginative crew simply fantastic. I’m thrilled at the prospect of adding my own touch to the esteemed history of this series.

Once Jones’s stage run comes to an end, the musical is set to embark on a tour across the United Kingdom. For the moment, however, you can have a criminally good Christmas by seeing Jones live on stage.

When can I see Vinnie Jones in Only Fools and Horses?

From the 17th of December to the 5th of January, you’ll have the opportunity to see Jones perform live on stage for a total of 28 shows.

The upcoming event will take place at London’s Hammersmith Apollo, then the tour, without Jones, is set for 2025.

To reach the Apollo, just make your way to Hammersmith station. You can do this by riding the Piccadilly, District, Circle, or Hammersmith & City tube lines.
