Vinny Guadagnino loves a good gym, tan, and strip tease.
As a die-hard fan, I can’t help but spill the beans about the latest revelation from the Jersey Shore star! He’s dished out some juicy details about his stint as a Chippendales dancer, and let me tell you, it’s mind-blowing! Not only did he share glimpses of his time on stage, but he also unveiled the whopping fortune he raked in during those sets. Simply amazing!
Vinny, aged 37, shared on April 25th during an episode of Kayla Nicole’s The Pre-Game podcast that he often tells people it’s not like a strip club and has earned over a million dollars from this venture. He explained that he has done numerous residencies, where you stay for an extended period, making this the most effortless income he’s ever received. All he needs to do is go there, live in Las Vegas, and take off his shirt.
Indeed, he found his five previous residencies, which earned him the nickname “Keto Guido”, to be less challenging than his current role as a stand-up comedian. Vinny first appeared with Chippendales in 2019, but it was two years later that his performance truly stood out. During that Las Vegas act, the former contestant on “Dancing with the Stars” captivated the audience with a daring moment: he removed all his clothes in a shower scene illuminated by purple lights.
Initially, Vinny left both the audience and social media users astonished. However, when speaking to TopMob News, he revealed that the performance was, in fact, the most enjoyable part of the entire show for him.
Vinny stated that he began to do it on a whim, as he had noticed Tyson Beckford trying it out. He thought to himself, “If Tyson, who was a guest host, could do it, then why shouldn’t I give it a try too?
In August 2023, Vinny completed his final residency and spent six weeks performing in Las Vegas, but he hasn’t shared if he’ll go back to Chippendales. Instead, he’s been busy making audiences laugh with his humor. Although Vinny launched his comedy career in 2024, he’s actually been perfecting his jokes for close to three years.
He revealed that when “Jersey Shore” wasn’t on television, he attended the UCB improv school. At that time, he was deeply interested in comedy and sketch comedy, and he even aspired to do stand-up comedy. However, he either lacked the courage or the necessary resources to pursue it.
Now that he’s moved from New Jersey to New York, he’s found more chances to develop his skills.
He went on to say, “I need to improve swiftly, but it’s a long process. However, I’ve got an upcoming show in Florida, and those dates are looking at me like, ‘Wow, this is fantastic income. I aspire for this to be my lifelong career.’

Jennifer Lawrence, a previous Oscar recipient, was compensated $25 million for featuring in director Adam McKay’s comedy disaster film titled ‘Don’t Look Up’. However, her costar and fellow Oscar winner Leonardo DiCaprio earned $30 million for his role in the same production.
Speaking with Vanity Fair for their December 2020/January 2021 issue, Lawrence stated, “Leo earns more at the box office than I do.” She continued, “I’m very content and grateful for my contract. However, in other instances, I believe many women in the workforce can relate – it’s awkward to discuss equal pay. And if you do raise concerns about what seems unfair, you’re often told it’s not due to gender differences, but they can’t explain what else it might be.
Her upbeat demeanor was earned: When the discrepancy in Lawrence’s pay compared to her male co-stars for the 2013 movie “American Hustle” became public knowledge following the 2014 Sony email leak, it sparked a broad discussion about the wage gap issue in Hollywood.
In a conversation with Channel 4 News in the UK back in 2017, Lawrence expressed her gratitude for having her job, but she clarified that her issue wasn’t related to money. She wasn’t displeased about receiving a certain amount of money for a film; she found such concerns absurd. Instead, she was upset by the unjustness and inequality she observed.
In contrast to DiCaprio’s earnings, Jonah Hill received approximately $60,000 (pre-commissions and taxes) for his role in “The Wolf of Wall Street” in 2013, while the film’s main character earned a staggering $10 million.
Hill recounted on The Howard Stern Show in 2014 that they were given the smallest amount of money conceivable. However, it was the opportunity to star in a Martin Scorsese film that excited him, so he hastened to finalize the agreement before anyone could reconsider due to budget concerns.
Hill said, “I’d give away my house and all my savings to work with Scorsese,” he explained, who received his second Best Supporting Actor nomination for his portrayal of a jittery, drug-addled stockbroker. “Money isn’t the reason you work. You could do movies like ’22 Jump Street’ or others to cover living expenses. But I would have done anything, and I’d do it again without hesitation. This isn’t about money; it’s about doing things that matter to you.
Oprah Winfrey happily accepted only a little bit of green to star in 1985’s The Color Purple.
In an interview with Essence in 2023, the media tycoon shared that they were given $35,000 for a role in a movie, which turned out to be the most valuable $35,000 they had ever made. They went on to say that this experience transformed their life and taught them many valuable lessons.
In the year 1997, Jennifer Lopez made history as she was the first Latin actress to receive a million dollars for her role in the biopic “Selena”, where she portrayed the legendary Tejana singer, Selena Quintanilla.
In an interview with Variety back in 2019, Lopez recalled her breakout film experience, admitting that she was too inexperienced to fully understand what was happening. She added, “It was fantastic they offered me a million dollars. It seemed like everyone was making some kind of declaration.
Through this, she was able to open up opportunities for earning hundreds of millions more, even without any monetary investment on her part at times.
Lopez shared with GQ in 2019 that he does things out of passion rather than financial gain. He didn’t earn much for Hustlers; instead, he did it without payment and even produced it himself. Essentially, he relies on his own abilities, similar to the message behind Jenny From the Block – he does what he loves.
Adrien Brody didn’t take up “The Brutalist” for financial gain. Instead, he accepted the challenging part of a struggling Hungarian architect in post-WWII America for a fee of $250,000 and was later awarded his second Oscar for Best Actor.
Brody told Variety, “I’m longing for a studio film right now, as I feel I’ve invested everything into the castle-like barn I’m restoring upstate.
Pete Davidson jokingly responded to New York magazine by saying, “Have you guys any idea what they pay us?” when asked about his spending habits upon joining Saturday Night Live at the age of 20 in 2014. Essentially, he was expressing that each episode paid around $3,000, so he would usually splurge on dinner.
It’s interesting to note that the starting salaries for newcomers on SNL have kept a consistent ratio. For instance, John Belushi, Jane Curtin, Gilda Radner, Dan Aykroyd, and Chevy Chase were each earning around $750 per episode in 1975, which is roughly equivalent to approximately $3,300 in 2014, as calculated by the Consumer Price Index Inflation calculator. By 2025, that same $750 would be equal to around $4,428, according to the same calculator.
In his current 22nd season on Saturday Night Live (SNL), Kenan Thompson earns significantly more than $3,000 per episode, but as a former Nickelodeon star, he had humble beginnings.
In Demi Lovato’s 2024 documentary, “Child Star”, the All That alum recalled, “The first commercial I got paid for was $800 when I was only 12. To me, that felt like a million dollars.”
It turns out Gilmore Girls’ status as a beloved rewatchable classic is literally priceless.
Lauren Graham, who portrayed Lorelai Gilmore for seven seasons and reappeared as her character in the 2016 revival ‘Gilmore Girls: A Year in the Life’, mentioned on ‘Jimmy Kimmel Live’ in March 2025 that there are no residuals on Netflix. However, she shared that she has been compensated with love and appreciation instead.
Tommy Dorfman expressed her sense of undervalued feelings by disclosing details about her earnings from “13 Reasons Why” during the 2023 SAG-AFTRA strike. This strike was initiated, in part, along with the WGA strike, due to streaming platforms like Netflix failing to implement extra remuneration for cast and crew once a show achieved significant success.
In simpler terms, Dorfman stated on Threads on July 24 that her income from the entire first season of “13 Reasons Why” amounted to $29,953.24 before deducting agency and manager fees (which accounted for 20%) and taxes. This was for eight episodes over a six-month period. She also mentioned that she was responsible for all promotional work, had key art for the show, traveled roundtrip from NYC to SF for every episode shoot, and spent extended periods without pay or insurance, barely qualifying for it.
Moreover, Dorfman stated, “During its initial 28-day run, our show’s first season accumulated a grand total of 476 million viewing hours. That’s why we stand firm in our position.
On his podcast, Dax Shepard revealed to former co-star Lauren Graham from “Parenthood” that he was aware he earned among the smallest paychecks among all the actors in their NBC series, which aired for six seasons.
But, the Armchair Expert host stressed that he did not mind.
He mentioned that before becoming a parent, he had always been curious about the salaries of every job he held. He would either discuss it with his coworkers or find out indirectly through agents.
He went out of his way to avoid learning details about his ancestral family’s Parenthood, a decision that allowed him to fully appreciate the experience, even as he occasionally sensed his position within the company hierarchy.
George Clooney revealed to the Los Angeles Times in 2005 that he personally secured the funding for his movie, “Good Night, and Good Luck.” He disclosed that he had to sign a check for directing duties and give up his acting earnings. Co-writer and co-producer Grant Heslov also earned a dollar for their involvement in the project.
The passionate work about CBS News journalist Edward R. Murrow standing up against authority in the 1950s has proven to be quite successful: Clooney will make his Broadway debut portraying Murrow in a stage adaptation of the movie. Additionally, during its preview week before the official opening on April 3, the play has earned an impressive Broadway record (for a non-musical) of $3.3 million, suggesting that Clooney is set to earn significantly more than $1.
The heartfelt portrayal of CBS News journalist Edward R. Murrow challenging power in the 1950s has been quite successful: Clooney will debut on Broadway playing Murrow in a stage adaptation of the film. Furthermore, during its pre-opening week before April 3, the play broke a Broadway record (for a non-musical) by earning $3.3 million, indicating that Clooney is poised to earn more than $1.
As portraying the chilling character of Patrick Bateman in the 2000 film “American Psycho,” I was paid the absolute minimum that they legally could, a fact I shared with GQ in 2022. This meager compensation was due largely to the reluctance of others involved in the production to hire me, except for director Mary Harron who firmly believed in my abilities.
In simpler terms, Bale stated that he earned such a small amount that he vividly recalled sitting in the makeup room with the artists giggling at him since his paycheck was smaller than theirs.
Although his uncle might be named Rico, Jon Heder revealed in 2010 that he was initially given just $1,000 for the film “Napoleon Dynamite” at the start.
Following the unexpected success of his irreverent comedy, he managed to secure a share of the earnings in renewed negotiations. Speaking to the New Zealand Herald, he casually remarked, “They bumped up the amount slightly.
Djimon Hounsou stated that he feels undervalued in the film industry, despite boasting a distinguished resume featuring movies like Amistad and Blood Diamond.
In an interview with Larry Madowo of CNN back in January 2025, the Beninese actor shared that he’s been involved in filmmaking for more than two decades. Despite having received two Oscar nominations and appearing in numerous large-scale films, he’s still finding it tough financially to sustain his livelihood.
In her 2024 memoir titled “Rebel Rising,” Rebel Wilson recounted that she received a mere $3,500 for her role in Bridesmaids. Since this amount needed to be remitted to the Screen Actors Guild to gain union membership, in essence, she was compensated nothing for the project.
Still, she wrote, the experience was “everything!”
The Australian actress saw an impressive increase in her fame and earnings, with her salary for “Pitch Perfect” (2012) starting at the SAG minimum scale of $65,000, rising to a whopping $10 million for “Pitch Perfect 3” (2017). According to Wilson’s account, she earned a total of $20 million from “Pitch Perfect 3”, “Isn’t It Romantic”, and “The Hustle”, although it’s important to note that about half went to taxes, 10% to agents, and 5% to her lawyer. After fulfilling her financial obligations and paying for her publicist, business manager, and assistant, Wilson was left with what she considered a substantial amount of money.
Towards the end of 2017, Ellen Pompeo successfully renegotiated her contract for the TV show “Grey’s Anatomy”, securing a payment of approximately $575,000 per episode. Additionally, she received a substantial signing bonus worth over one million dollars and two shares of the show’s profits, which could potentially earn her an extra $6 million to $7 million.
In 2018, Pompeo told The Hollywood Reporter that she’s now at an age where she feels comfortable asking for what she rightfully deserves. She acknowledged that her age might make her seem less relevant in the industry due to her long-running role, but she emphasized that sustaining a strong performance over 14 years takes real skill.
More recently, Ellen Pompeo acknowledged that despite her being the ‘Grey’ character, she never resented Patrick Dempsey for earning more. This doesn’t mean she was envious of his earnings.
In a March 2025 episode of Call Her Daddy, she expressed, “Given that the show bears my name, I felt I deserved equal treatment. It was more frustrating not getting it than being envious of his success. What irked me was not so much his achievements, but rather the fact that they didn’t appreciate me as much as they appreciated him, and they never will.
Back in 1978, Jamie Lee Curtis reminisced about earning $2,000 per week, which amounted to a total of $8,000, for her first movie role in Halloween. As she put it during an interview with Rotten Tomatoes in 2018, “To be honest, nobody received any payment back then.
Although actress Jamie Lee Curtis was earning four figures, John Carpenter’s friend Nick Castle, who portrayed the role of Michael Myers, felt like royalty with a daily wage of just $25. It was Anthony Moran whose visage you glimpse when the killer’s mask momentarily comes off, and editor Tommy Lee Wallace also appeared on screen as Michael Myers.
In 2018, Castle, who studied at USC with Carpenter, told Vanity Fair, “At that point in time, it seemed like a lot!” The reason for my interest in the film was being on set to understand the filmmaking process. I thought I would be there for free. But little did I know, they were offering $25 per day and all I had to do was wear a rubber mask!
Taraji P. Henson received a Best Supporting Actress Oscar nomination for her role in the 2008 film “The Curious Case of Benjamin Button.” Even after many years have passed, she remains enthusiastic about the $150,000 payment she received for being in the movie—a sum that was offered to her following the producers’ rejection of her initial request for $500,000.
Regarding the main characters of the movie, Brad Pitt and Cate Blanchett, Henson stated on the Ladies First With Laura Brown podcast in 2021 that “Back then, it wasn’t common to hear about $20 million salaries, but that was the case. And honestly, considering their talent, they deserved every penny of it.
I wasn’t just there to watch; I was contributing financially too, and I believed the amount I asked for, given where I was in my career, was reasonable, considering the box office potential of this movie. I wouldn’t budge on it.” Henson shared her feelings when they initially offered $100,000. “Looking back, I ended up getting $150,000, but I had to put my ego aside, dear.
Henson clarified, “People often say, ‘150,000 dollars, that’s a significant amount!’ However, I don’t want to come across as ungrateful because that’s not my nature. But if we consider taxes and team expenses before tax, here’s the breakdown: The government takes half of that, leaving you with $75,000. Before taxes, I have to pay my team 30%, so Uncle Sam takes another 75% of the remaining 75,000, which is 45%. That means I’ll only keep about 40,000 dollars.
Cate Blanchett has amassed a substantial fortune throughout her career, not solely due to her portrayal of the royal elf Galadriel in The Lord of the Rings series, despite its massive global box office earnings of $2.9 billion.
She responded sharply on “Watch What Happens Live” in August 2024 when Andy Cohen suggested that the Lord of the Rings trilogy was her biggest paycheck. “Nobody received payment for that movie…I’m just saying, I essentially got free sandwiches, and I get to keep my ears.
In contrast to what one might expect, Orlando Bloom, the actor who portrayed the elven warrior Legolas, disclosed on The Howard Stern Show in 2023 that he received a total of $175,000 for the entire Lord of the Rings trilogy.
Hopefully he also got to keep his ears.
