The image ignited a flurry of comments about his Christmas movie “Violent Night,” which became an instant hit back in 2022 and quickly gained cult status. With the sequel to this holiday action-comedy in development for quite some time, Harbour’s photo holding a script titled “Violent Night 2” is certainly a promising sign that we might be getting a follow-up soon!

In the film “Violent Night“, Santa Claus, played by none other than Harbour himself, takes on an unusual role. Unlike traditional portrayals, this Saint Nick is more action-packed! The story unfolds with him gliding down a chimney into a luxurious residence where the inhabitants are being held captive by ruthless mercenaries. The responsibility of their rescue falls upon jolly old Kris Kringle, who proves he’s not all mistletoe and candy canes!
The upcoming sequel is penned by writers Pat Casey and Josh Miller, who also worked on the original film, while Tommy Wirkola resumes his directorial role. The production is slated to start in early 2025. In an interview with Bloody Disgusting, Wirkola offered some insights into the direction of the storyline.
He mentioned that there are items strewn about, just as the North Pole is scattered with snow, Mrs. Claus, and elves, he said. From a narrative perspective, I believe we have an incredibly intriguing concept that not only broadens the universe but maintains the beloved tone from the original work.
2025 promises to be an exceptional year for Chris Harbour. He will once again embody Jim Hopper in the last season of “Stranger Things” and assume a larger role than ever within the Marvel Cinematic Universe, appearing in “Thunderbolts” and the animated series “Marvel Zombies.” Additionally, Harbour has two films scheduled for release next year and two more upcoming TV shows listed on his IMDb page. If “Violent Night 2” moves quickly into production, it could bring a thrilling conclusion to Harbour’s 2025.
