In the works at Japanese movie studio Toho, the film is due to arrive in theatres in 2025.

First, The Exit 8 was released on Steam back in November 2023. Later, it became available on consoles such as PS5 and PS4, which happened in August 2024. Notably, when it debuted on the PlayStation Store, a few similar games had already emerged by that time.
In a message posted on the movie’s official site, developer KOTAKE expressed their feelings of being taken aback yet thankful over the film’s adaptation.
When someone mentioned the film, they found themselves puzzled as to how they could transform a game lacking a narrative into a movie. However, they believe it has managed to become an engaging film while preserving the essence and ambiance of Exit 8.
