If you haven’t been following Netflix’s small-town drama “Virgin River,” here’s a quick catch-up: In the dramatic final episode of season 6, the long-awaited wedding between Mel and Jack takes place.
It’s evident that when talking with the Canadian actor, he is bound by a vow of silence regarding Season 7, as filming for it starts in March.
Following a meeting with showrunner Patrick Sean Smith, there’s a hint that Brady might pursue finding his ex-girlfriend and possibly recover the funds she swindled from him.
According to the actor, he had a conversation with Sean (Smith) about the plotlines for season 7, which gives me some insight into where they plan to develop his character moving forward.
I won’t reveal much, but let me put it this way: I doubt he’d be content if someone stole his money and left it at that. Instead, I believe he’d actively seek to recover it.
It’s quite plausible to assume that he might be searching for Lark, and the events surrounding this quest could very well become a significant part of the narrative in Season 7.
It’s possible that Hollingsworth is optimistic about Brady needing to collaborate with his old rival, Mike (Marco Grazzini), who could become Brie’s future husband, during this mission. This situation might offer the former marines an opportunity to mend their relationship and potentially forge a friendship.
He mentioned that it’d be quite enjoyable to act out the roles of the ‘good cop’ and ‘bad cop’, figuratively speaking, as they collaborate in this scenario.
Regardless of Brady’s inner turmoil regarding his love life, as he publicly declared his affection for Brie at the end of the season, Hollingsworth seems certain that Brady will ultimately discover lasting happiness with a specific woman.
I find it challenging not to express my loyalty towards Team Brie, as I share an exceptional professional bond with Zibby [Allen], and she makes an outstanding scene partner for me.
He also noted that while Elise Gatien, who portrays Lark, is undeniably talented and an excellent collaborator, there’s something special between him and Zibby – they seem to understand each other particularly well.
In every situation, I strongly believe that Brie is undeniably the most suitable choice for Brady, as I am constantly aiming for the highest good for his character.
Over the past seven years, Hollingsworth has enjoyed embodying the ups and downs of Virgin River‘s troubled heartthrob, and he notes that the tight-knit group of actors and crew members have grown into a “family”.
However, the actor admits there is one element of getting back into his character that is “tough”.
Hollingsworth expressed his affection for Brady, stating he always enjoys acting him out. He eagerly looks forward to revisiting his character whenever possible, except for the demanding workouts needed to maintain his physical fitness – which can be challenging. Nevertheless, he relishes every other aspect of playing him.
