As someone who has been navigating the digital landscape for quite some time now, I must admit that I’m quite intrigued by the latest update to Vivaldi browser. Version 6.9 brings a host of new features that cater to the modern user’s needs, especially in terms of privacy and efficiency.
Over the past few years, browsers have evolved from being an avenue to access the internet. Users are now more concerned about privacy, security, and more. These are among the key features Vivaldi is known for, and as it happens, the browser is getting a major update, bumping it to version 6.9.
This latest version comes equipped with numerous innovative functions such as the ability to rename tabs, manage files by dragging and dropping them, and a more transparent display of synchronized tabs. Furthermore, it includes modifications aimed at optimizing the functionality and overall user experience within Vivaldi Mail.
At times, we’ve all navigated through several internet tabs at once. Renaming these tabs can simplify understanding for users when using Vivaldi, improving both efficiency and productivity. This functionality isn’t novel; for example, the Tab Modifier available on the Chrome Web Store already offers this feature.
Following this, users can easily move their downloads straight from the Downloads Panel to their chosen location by simply dragging and dropping them. What’s even more intriguing is that this feature enables users to transfer multiple files all at once, simplifying the process of managing downloaded files.
In this latest update, you’ll find a streamlined layout displaying all your active tabs right in the Windows Panel. This feature is particularly useful for those who switch between devices while browsing, as it allows you to instantly see which tabs are open on any device directly from the Windows Panel. Additionally, it simplifies the process of identifying and focusing on tabs open only on a specific device, as mentioned by Vivaldi.
The updated layout distinguishes Devices, Workspaces, and Tab Groups, making it more convenient than before to resume tasks when switching from your computer to your laptop.
Vivaldi Mail is also getting several fixes and improvements to enhance stability and performance.
Vivaldi is Windows on Arm optimized
Remember when I mentioned Google Chrome and Brave being optimized for Windows on Arm? Well, last year, Vivaldi joined the party by releasing a preview of its browser tailored for Windows on Arm. This push for Windows on Arm is primarily driven by Qualcomm’s launch of their top-tier Snapdragon X Elite processors, which are now integrated into the latest hardware, such as Microsoft’s Copilot+ PCs. As a tech enthusiast, I can’t wait to see how these advancements shape the future of our computing experience!
Now, Vivaldi has disclosed that their web browser is specifically fine-tuned for Windows on ARM systems. They anticipate improved speed and efficiency as a result.
“We’re making Vivaldi accessible on Windows ARM systems, not just offering it, but tailoring it for these advanced devices. Regardless if you’re using a Surface Pro X, Lenovo Yoga C630, or any other ARM-driven device, Vivaldi provides the same high-quality, customizable browsing experience you’re accustomed to, now boasting improved speed and battery life thanks to ARM technology.”
On Arm-based Windows computers, you can now enjoy Vivaldi browser, tailor-made to take advantage of the novel architecture. This version offers enhanced functionality such as quicker loading times, seamless scrolling, and heightened responsiveness for an overall more efficient user experience.
The browser’s experience and features have also been optimized to run smoothly and seamlessly on Windows on ARM. Vivaldi says it offers the perfect browsing experience for both power and casual users. “Our browser adapts to your needs, offering an intuitive, user-friendly interface while also providing deep customization options for those who want to tweak every detail,” concluded Vivaldi. The browser will let users leverage the capability of next-generation Windows PCs.
