As a film enthusiast with decades of experience under my belt, I must confess that seeing Brian Cox express his long-held envy over missing out on Peter Jackson’s Lord of the Rings trilogy resonated deeply with me. I too, have had my fair share of “what ifs” when it comes to iconic film roles. However, as life often has a way of surprising us, I am thrilled that Brian Cox gets to be part of the Middle-earth saga through the new anime prequel, Lord of the Rings: The War of Rohirrim.
As a die-hard fan, I can’t help but admit that I’ve often found myself yearning for a chance to be part of Peter Jackson’s epic Lord of the Rings trilogy, just like some of my favorite stars who graced those unforgettable films. Indeed, it’s no secret that seeing them brought Middle-earth to life only serves to remind me of what might have been for me.
Actor Known for “Succession” is voicing the character Helm Hammerhand in the upcoming Middle-earth prequel anime series titled “Lord of the Rings: The War of Rohirrim,” now playing in UK theaters.
He commented: “However, you understand, it simply didn’t happen. I mean, Sean Bean, the late and marvelous Bernard [Hill], I always admired the fantastic cast they had for that project. And I’ve always felt a sense of envy.
Although he harbored a desire to be part of films, Cox admitted that he was actually unaware of the details of the War of the Rohirrim prior to agreeing to voice the character of Helm.
“I was a million miles away from knowing what this was, this wonderful film.”
As a movie lover myself, I can say that the final outcome exceeded my expectations, and crafting this film was nothing short of extraordinary.
We take great pleasure in performing our tasks, and getting compensated for it is an added bonus. Ultimately, it’s the satisfaction we derive from the work itself that matters most.
Then you come to understand that you’re far greater than just yourself. You’re a piece of the grand puzzle, but merely one among many.
