Two days ago, the update for Call of Duty: Black Ops 6 and Warzone Season 4 was released across all platforms, however, the new season for this widely acclaimed franchise by Activision (a subsidiary of Microsoft) has faced numerous problems.
Normally, new seasons bring some fresh bugs, but Season 4 appears to have caused some unique problems for Call of Duty, affecting both the free-to-play game mode, Warzone, and the paid multiplayer version of Black Ops 6. The initial update introduced stability issues with Call of Duty: Warzone, causing players difficulty in connecting to Call of Duty services.
24 hours after the release of Season 4, the official Call of Duty Updates social media platform reported that several game features were temporarily disabled due to technical glitches. Among these affected features were the option to customize loadouts in the Warzone pre-match lobby, the theater mode in Black Ops 6, and Zombies players encountering problems with navigation mechanics such as fast travel and ascenders.
Eventually, it became inevitable that the Call of Duty team would begin disabling certain features as they looked into persistent issues. The initial feature to be temporarily suspended was the Motherclucker blueprint for the ASG-82 weapon.
During the debut of Season 3, the competitive mode for Black Ops 6 Multiplayer was temporarily suspended. Even with the troubleshome issues in Season 4, they reactivated the competitive mode for multiplayer. However, the timeline for introducing a competitive mode for Warzone’s Battle Royale has been postponed. In a social media update, the team explained this delay by saying, “We chose to push back the launch of Ranked Play: Battle Royale so we can refine the experience and bring it up to its original quality.
Over the course of Friday, improvements were made to Call of Duty as the team worked tirelessly to fix the instability problems. After an update on Friday night which appeared to resolve the freezing and stability issues in Warzone, a post on social media announced that Ranked Play: Battle Royale would be going live soon.

As an analyst, I haven’t received any communication from the team regarding whether the delay in the release of Ranked Play: Battle Royale or the other issues encountered during Season 4 launch will affect the scheduled debut of Ranked Play: Resurgence Trios on Rebirth Island alongside the midseason refresh in Call of Duty: Warzone.
