Watch: Dominik Mysterio Channels Eddie Guerrero on WWE Monday Night Raw

As a long-time WWE fan who’s been through the highs and lows of Rey Mysterio’s career, I must say, Dominik Mysterio and Liv Morgan’s grand entrance on this week’s Monday Night Raw was nothing short of spectacular! The Lucha Low Rider tribute to Eddie Guerrero was a heartfelt touch that brought back memories of WrestleMania 39. However, the mood took a turn when Rhea Ripley stormed in, seemingly intent on spoiling their victory lap.

As I tuned in for tonight’s WWE Monday Night Raw, I was taken aback by Dominik Mysterio and Liv Morgan’s grand entrance, reminiscent of Rey Mysterio’s signature style with a sleek, cherry red Lucha Low Rider. This vehicle, iconic from WrestleMania 39, honored the late Eddie Guerrero. They were there to bask in their triumph, but Rhea Ripley swiftly dampened their spirits. She’s got no time for their celebratory lap; she’s focused on the upcoming WWE Bad Blood next week. In a playful jab, Liv questioned Rhea about her knee injury, implying it might be the reason for her ring appearance tonight – perhaps to announce she wasn’t fit to compete.

In an interview with ComicBook last May, Dom expressed his intention to pay tribute to Eddie by occasionally referencing his storylines from the early 2000s in a humorous way. “Well, you could say that, don’t you think? After all, wrestlers often mimic each other’s moves, right? So what’s the big deal? But when you look back at the history of wrestling and watch an Eddie Guerrero promo, it might make you reconsider your judgments. You remember who he said would continue the Guerrero legacy, don’t you? Just throwing that out there. He knew something we all didn’t in 2005, over 20 years ago. He knew something we didn’t know. So I see this as honoring an old friend now.

Regrettably for Morgan, Ripley stated something quite different. Instead of being barred from wrestling Morgan for the Women’s World Championship, she’s specifically there to deal with Dirty Dom. Historically, he’s been interfering in Morgan’s matches and thwarted Ripley’s victory over her before. However, come next weekend, Dirty Dom will find no escape.

Over the ring, he’ll be suspended, powerless to aid Morgan in defending her title. Handling Dom is one thing, but there are other members of the group that even Priest can’t singlehandedly fight off. Lately, Jey Uso has teamed up with them, so maybe he’ll assist Mami in securing a final victory against her rival.
