As a long-time WWE fan with over two decades of fandom under my belt, let me tell you, it was nothing short of exhilarating to witness The Rock’s grand return at WWE Bad Blood! The man’s charisma is unmatched, and his mere presence adds an electric energy to any event.
The Final Boss has returned. This past weekend at WWE Bad Blood, Dwayne “The Rock” Johnson made his first televised appearance on WWE programming since April, emerging from the entranceway as the premium live event was about to go off the air. The Rock stared down WWE WrestleMania 40 tag partner Roman Reigns and longtime adversary Cody Rhodes, slowly holding up his fingers to signal “1, 2, 3” before making a throat-slicing hand signal. While it remains to be seen as to what this appearance means for The Rock’s long-term WWE future, it does re-cement that The Great One is still making good on his promise to come after Rhodes.
Solo Sikoa Hints at The Rock’s Bloodline Allegiances
Since The Rock last appeared on WWE television, the dynasty has undergone significant transformation, yet it remains unclear if The Rock’s alliances have been affected.
At WWE Bad Blood, a fan video showed Self-declared Tribal Chief Solo Sikoa responding verbally when heard saying to Jacob Fatu, member of The Bloodline, “This is all part of the strategy.
“It’s Part of the plan” ??

Based on the way events unfolded between Kevin Owens and Cody Rhodes after their show, it seems WWE is urging talent to uphold the kayfabe, or the illusion of storylines, even when cameras aren’t rolling, within the arena during event days. This allows fan-captured footage to add an extra layer of realism to these narratives. Sikoa’s casual comment to Fatu suggests a larger story is unfolding involving The Rock and The Bloodline. This could potentially mean The Rock regaining his place in his family group, expanding the ongoing narrative.
As The Rock bowed to Roman Reigns and accepted his role as Tribal Chief ahead of WWE WrestleMania 40, Reigns has since cut ties with Bloodline. Given that The Rock holds the title of “High Chief” in the Samoan Dynasty family tree, there’s a chance he could seize control from Sikoa and take over the Bloodline in the future. However, it seems that Sikoa is open to welcoming The Rock back into the group’s fold as they navigate this shift in power dynamics.
On Saturday, it appeared that The Rock and Reigns’ relationship might have reached its end, especially considering their scheduled main event at WWE WrestleMania 40. However, when Rhodes took back the main event spot, the WWE decided to alter their plans and make The Rock a villain, teaming him up with Reigns instead. The canceled singles match was later redefined as a friendly family encounter once they were on the same side.
At Showcase of the Immortals, The Rock acknowledged Reigns but threw veiled, indirect jabs at him. As WWE WrestleMania 40 approached, it was The Rock who clinched the tag team win on Night 1, while Reigns lost to Rhodes on Night 2. As WWE WrestleMania 40 concluded, both men walked up the ramp together, but The Rock failed to display any support for his fellow wrestler who had just lost.
You can now rewatch the “WWE Bad Blood” event on Peacock. The aftermath of the Bloodline saga from this premium live show continues on “WWE SmackDown”, which will be aired on Friday, October 11th at 8 PM ET on USA Network.
