As a long-time Final Fantasy enthusiast who has traversed through various iterations of this enchanting universe, I can’t help but feel a flutter of excitement when I hear about the potential expansion of my beloved game to new platforms. The prospect of exploring the rich, immersive world of Final Fantasy 14 on Nintendo consoles is tantalizing, and as someone who has spent countless hours battling beasts, forging alliances, and embarking on epic quests in this MMORPG, I eagerly await any news regarding its arrival.
This year, Square Enix introduced “Final Fantasy 14” on Xbox Series X/S, broadening the reach of its already thriving MMORPG further. It appears that Square Enix aims to continue this growth by potentially launching the game on additional platforms, particularly Nintendo systems.
In a conversation with Game Reactor, the director and producer of Final Fantasy 14, Naoki Yoshida, shared that Square Enix is actively discussing and making advancements about bringing Final Fantasy 14 to Nintendo’s consoles.
Yoshida expressed confidence that both media outlets and players likely anticipate the release of Final Fantasy 14 on Nintendo’s consoles, however, the vision for the game is to make it available across various devices. With this aim in mind, efforts are being made, discussions are ongoing, and progress is being made. So, keep an eye out for future updates!
In his statement, Yoshida didn’t explicitly disclose the Nintendo platform that Square Enix plans to release the MMORPG on. This might imply that he’s not referring to the Switch, but rather its potential successor (unless it’s for both systems, or possibly even both).
It’s intriguing to note that rumors suggest a separate mobile adaptation of “Final Fantasy 14” is being developed, reportedly in partnership with Tencent. This seems to have been given the green light for release in China recently.
Final Fantasy 14 is currently available on PS5, Xbox Series X/S, PS4, and PC.
