I noted in my previous STALKER 2 preview that Microsoft had a game of the year contender on its hands. And sure, I was playing a preview build on a high-end PC with mouse and keyboard, and even then I noted that polish could potentially be an issue. Even with the issues, STALKER 2 proves itself to be a fantastic landmark experience, with some of the most detailed hand-crafted open-world design we’ve seen from the genre in years.

It seems likely that mutants might require a decrease in their hitpoints, and the enemy spawning system in the game, known as “A-Life,” could benefit from an expansion of its range and complexity. Fortunately, GSC Game World is actively working on incorporating feedback about these aspects. GSC Game World has previously announced intentions to provide free updates along with paid expansions, suggesting that STALKER 2 may have a sustained presence in the gaming world for several years ahead.

As a researcher delving into the mysteries of The Zone once more, I eagerly anticipate the installation of the deadzone fix, at which point I’ll be right back in the fray.
