The upcoming game, RoadCraft, hails from the same creators as SnowRunner, and its recently released trailer could potentially tug at your heartstrings – quite an achievement for a game centered around laying asphalt.
The trailer you see up there predominantly features computer-generated imagery (CG) before displaying glimpses of actual gameplay footage. Yet, it evokes a sense of nostalgia in an unexpected manner.
Fundamentally, the trailer showcases kids engaging in outdoor play using toy trucks and excavators, mimicking construction work by shoveling dirt. One child spots a real construction site in the vicinity, and he envisions himself controlling the genuine equipment. Towards the end, other children join in this imaginative game.
The trailer has a touch of sweetness, but the game itself appears quite serious, focusing on the reconstruction of infrastructure.
In essence, RoadCraft is a single or cooperative game where you manage diverse vehicles and machinery, constructing road systems, bridges, and more, as you work to rebuild infrastructure following a catastrophe.
It’s set to release on PS5 later this month, on 20th May 2025.
