As a seasoned gamer with a soft spot for heartwarming, immersive experiences, I must say that InKonbini has piqued my interest like a well-placed sign outside a quaint Japanese konbini store. Having traversed the virtual landscapes of many a simulated world, I find myself drawn to the promise of this slice-of-life shopkeeping sim set in 1990s Japan.
I recently stumbled upon an exciting new video showcasing InKonbini, which was unveiled during a recent Day of the Devs event. As a lover of cozy simulation games, this upcoming project has me buzzing with anticipation!
If you didn’t catch the news earlier this year, InKonbini is a simulation game that mimics running a small convenience store, similar to those common in Japan.
According to a fresh video by developer Nagai Industries, you assume the role of Makoto Hayakawa, a young woman who assists in managing a convenience store in a quaint 1990s town.
The game incorporates office simulation-style tasks such as stocking shelves and serving customers, but it emphasizes personal interactions. Each customer has distinct preferences, quirks, and desired items, and by getting to know them better, you’ll uncover their stories.

This looks splendid – we’re quite optimistic about it upon its arrival on PlayStation 5. As of now, there isn’t a release date, but you can add it to your wish list in the meantime.
