Approximately three months from now, director Zach Cregger’s movie titled “Weapons” is set to be released, and while details about the film are scarce aside from it involving missing children, Warner Bros. is getting more aggressive with its promotional strategies. An example of this can be seen in a two-hour long video uploaded on YouTube yesterday that carries an unlisted tag. This means the video isn’t easily discoverable unless one specifically looks for it.
Yesterday, Warner Bros. shared a surveillance video on their YouTube channel, and it has garnered approximately 15,000 views so far. The video is not particularly extraordinary, except that it depicts various children exiting their homes during the night. This aligns with what we currently understand about the movie Weapons, which centers around interconnected storylines involving the mysterious disappearance of schoolchildren at precisely 2:17 AM. The only other notable aspect of the video is that at the 2:14:17 timestamp, a face that seems to belong to a man can be seen reflected on the screen as he watches the video. It could potentially be Josh Brolin, who plays Archer Graff, the father of one of the missing children in the film.
Besides Brolin, Weapons boasts the talents of Julia Garner, Alden Ehrenreich, Austin Abrams, Cary Christopher, Benedict Wong, and Amy Madigan. It’s rumored that it shares a universe with Cregger’s 2022 success, Barbarian, but the extent of their connection is unclear at present.
