Fans of “The Beginning After the End” anime who are watching it in Japanese with subtitles have already watched two (or soon to be three) episodes. However, those who prefer an English dub can now start enjoying the power fantasy isekai as well! Today marks the debut of the English dub from Studio A-Cat, and the English voice cast has officially been unveiled.
In a refreshing twist to the isekai genre, “The Beginning After the End” draws inspiration from shows like “Mushoku Tensei,” but without the questionable content. Instead of the original ruler, King Grey, we find him reborn as a baby named Arthur Leywin in a different world, blessed with a loving family. Much like his past life and this new realm, our understanding of both deepens gradually, while Arthur’s power grows exponentially.
Who Stars in The Beginning After the End‘s English Voice Cast?
🎬 I’m absolutely thrilled! Mark your calendars for April 16th, as the English dub of the first episode of “The Beginning After the End” is about to grace our screens. Guess who will be breathing life into our cherished characters? Amber “FoxyVox” May (from Beyblade X) will voice Arthur Leywin, and Christopher Wehkamp (known for My Hero Academia) will bring King Grey to life. The roles of Arthur’s parents, Alice and Rey, will be beautifully portrayed by Colleen Clinkenbeard (Fullmetal Alchemist: Brotherhood) and Jessie James Grelle (Attack on Titan). Intriguingly, Kayla Temshiv (from The Dead) has been chosen to voice Sylvie, while “Soldier” will be voiced by Brandon Acosta (Solo Leveling). This star-studded cast is sure to deliver an unforgettable experience!
Alongside the announced cast, details about the key personnel for the English version of “The Beginning After the End” have been unveiled as well. The dub is helmed by director Jonathan Rigg and producer Samantha Harek. Heather Walker takes on the task of scripting the story into English. Neal Malley handles the mixing, while Derric Benavides serves as the sound engineer for this dubbed version. Fresh episodes will be made available weekly, two weeks following their Japanese airing.
Can The Beginning After the End‘s Anime Be Redeemed?
One of the most widely read web novels ever, “The Beginning After the End,” has been enjoyed by more than 150 million readers. However, the anime adaptation produced by Studio A-CAT hasn’t met the high expectations of its fans. In fact, after only two episodes, a large number of viewers have expressed their dissatisfaction, with some even starting a petition to have the show halted and reworked with improved animation.
The criticism primarily focuses on the combat sequences in “The Beginning After the End”. Fans who have followed the web novel anticipated an animated version comparable to A-1 Pictures’ “Solo Leveling”. However, the fights in “The Beginning After the End” resemble Season 2 of “Blue Lock” more closely. It’s been assumed that the underwhelming animation in Episode 2 might be due to budget constraints. As significant fight scenes are approaching, it will take something noteworthy to regain the fanbase’s trust.
