Wednesday: Jenna Ortega Says She Was "Terrified" to Return for Season 2

As a seasoned gamer of both virtual and real-life series, I eagerly await the release of Wednesday Season 2. Having followed Jenna Ortega‘s career since her breakout role in Jane The Virgin, it’s fascinating to see her take on such an iconic character as Wednesday Addams. Her fear of returning to the set after a few years might be relatable to many of us who have taken extended breaks from our favorite games or shows – the dread of losing the knack for it all.

The production for Wednesday (Season 2) is currently in progress, and fans are excitedly anticipating the continuation of Wednesday Addams’ adventures in Netflix’s spinoff of The Addams Family. However, series lead Jenna Ortega admitted that she was initially “afraid” to come back for another season. During an interview on The Tonight Show Starring Jimmy Fallon, Ortega explained that it took a moment to adjust due to the elapsed time since filming Season 1, but quickly found her way back into the groove of things.

Ortega expressed some apprehension as it had been quite a while since they filmed the first one on a Wednesday, approximately two or three years ago in Romania. He admitted that he was overthinking things but once he donned the costumes by Colleen Atwood and underwent hair and makeup, he felt more at ease and confident about his performance.

Additionally, Ortega mentioned that she serves as a producer for Season 2 of the show, which gives her the opportunity to shape its direction – an aspect she finds thrilling.

As a creative enthusiast, I can’t help but feel thrilled and invigorated! The power to determine aspects such as the hue of someone’s skin, where to place the ‘brain’ in a design, or how a prosthetic should look is nothing short of exhilarating. It’s an absolute joy, truly!

Will Season 2 of Wednesday Have a Dance Sequence?

Among the standout moments from the first season of Wednesday, the well-known dance sequence certainly left an impression. However, when it comes to the second season of this series, Ortega admits that she’s not aware if there will be another viral moment like that — although only a few episodes of the new season have been filmed so far.

When asked about a potential new viral dance by Extra, Ortega responded, “As far as I know, no such thing.” He added, “I don’t like to speculate too much about future schedules; it might scare me if I see something similar.”

She did, however, tease memorable scenes.

She stated, “Our scenes are truly exceptional, I must say. Each episode features at least one powerful, standout moment, and it’s delightful. It might not seem like a series of movies, but this season provides us with more chances to achieve what we initially aimed for in the first one, perhaps without the resources or confidence, and we have much more trust in ourselves this time around, which is fantastic.”

Wednesday Season 2 is expected sometime in 2025 on Netflix.
