Wednesday Star Addresses a Possible Viral Dance in Season 2

As a dedicated fan who has followed Jenna Ortega’s career since her days on “Stuck in the Middle,” I must say I’m both thrilled and slightly disheartened by her recent interview about the dance scene in “Wednesday.”

Filmmakers don’t always know which scenes from a movie or TV series will become viral sensations once they are released to the audience, so it was hard to predict that Jenna Ortega’s dance in the spinoff series Wednesday would gain such popularity and generate numerous memes. Recently, Ortega was asked if fans could anticipate a similarly viral moment in Season 2, particularly about a possible dance sequence, and she admitted that she wasn’t aware of any such scene. Since she has only filmed four episodes for Season 2 so far, there is still a chance that a similar sequence might appear. It is expected that Wednesday Season 2 will be available on Netflix in 2025.

As a fan enthusiastically inquired about a potential new viral dance from me, I humbly admitted, “Gosh, to be honest, I don’t have any plans for one at the moment. My schedule is a bit unpredictable, so who knows what might catch my eye!”

Despite the absence of a popular dance routine, Ortega hinted that viewers can still look forward to impactful scenes. In her words, “I’d say we have some truly remarkable set pieces. So far, we’ve completed four episodes, and each one has at least one standout scene or element. It’s not that they’re like movies, but this season seems to offer us a bit more chance to achieve what we aimed for in the first one, maybe without the resources or confidence initially, and we simply have more trust this season, which is wonderful.”

It turns out that Ortega personally designed the dance for the show/movie, blending a mix of movements she’s observed from different artists. Although she was delighted by the audience’s response to the scene, it also brought about some feelings of regret.

In 2023, Ortega told Entertainment Tonight, “I still can’t comprehend it,” as he reflected on the unexpected popularity of the scene. “Some of the moves I had rehearsed, some were improvised on the spot. That was one of the scenes that kept me awake at night, thinking about all the things I could have done differently or better. So, to think that people have shown any admiration for it, or even tried it themselves, is hard for me to grasp.”

Wednesday Season 2 is expected to land on Netflix in 2025.
