Six months later, it was reported that Wendy’s medical team had confirmed her diagnosis of primary progressive aphasia and frontotemporal dementia, conditions affecting speech abilities and cognitive processes.
In a statement on February 22nd, they expressed that disclosing this news was challenging and required thoughtful deliberation, not just to foster empathy and compassion towards Wendy, but also to increase awareness about aphasia and frontotemporal dementia, and to stand in solidarity with the many others experiencing similar situations.
Despite the challenges posed by her disorders, Wendy continues to exhibit her characteristic wit and humor, and her care team assures that she receives appropriate care to meet both her protection needs and address her requirements effectively.
They added, “She is appreciative of the many kind thoughts and good wishes being sent her way.”
Later on, Wendy openly acknowledged her health issues in a heartfelt declaration, sharing with TopMob News that she felt moved by the wave of sympathy, and emphasized the strength of solidarity and the importance of kindness.
