What Halloweentown’s Kimberly J. Brown Wants to See in a 5th Movie

As a long-time enthusiast of all things Halloweentown, I can’t help but feel a surge of nostalgia when I hear about Kimberly J. Brown‘s potential return to our beloved series. Having grown up alongside Marnie Piper, I find myself reminiscing about the days when I, too, donned my own purple robe adorned with stars, pretending to cast spells and brew potions in my backyard.

Kimberly J. Brown is down for her return to Halloweentown.

30 years after the initial airing of the Disney Channel Original Movie, the actress who played Marnie Piper in the first three ‘Halloweentown’ films shared her thoughts about potentially making a fifth movie and what elements she would like to be included.

In a one-of-a-kind chat with TopMob News, I couldn’t help but share my thoughts on the endless story potentials Marnie holds. If given the chance, she could be educating a fresh wave of witches or even running for city leadership. Her deep-seated love for her community and knack for uniting people would continue to shine in these roles, that much I’m sure!

Apart from her usual duties, you might find the eldest Piper occasionally engaging in combat against villains as well. Despite Kimberly marrying Daniel Kountz, who portrayed the antagonist and heartthrob Kal Jr. in ‘Halloweentown II: Kalabar’s Revenge’, she believes Marnie wouldn’t choose a similar path.

She went on to express, “It’s quite intriguing to ponder Marnie developing feelings for Kal. In my opinion, a significant, extraordinary event, perhaps even a magical one, would be needed for Marnie to fall in love with Kal. Given their long-standing family rivalry, it seems unlikely that such a scenario could play out on the screen.

The 39-year-old woman has made it known that she’s prepared to don her starry purple cloak at any moment, but could use support from her cherished film enthusiasts.

She strongly indicated her interest, saying, “I’d be thrilled for another opportunity.” Disney has picked up on this and we’re all hoping for it. I’ve been encouraging fans to let Disney know there’s demand for it if they decide to produce it. The decision now lies with Disney.

Despite the fact that it’s been three full decades since Marnie, her brother Dylan (Joey Zimmerman), sister Sophie (Emily Roeske), and Grandma Aggie (Debbie Reynolds) first ventured to Halloweentown with her, Kimberly still feels there must be a particular reason why the movies have continued to resonate over time.

Reflecting on the story of Halloweentown, it struck her how the family’s struggles were remarkably human, despite its fantastical elements. Marnie, discovering her witchhood at 13, was just like any other teenager, grappling with self-discovery and life aspirations.

She shared a strong connection with her in that regard and was consistently impressed by her tenacity and resilience, which inspired her to forge ahead and pioneer new paths. To this day, it remains her most cherished memory.

Kimberly’s affection for the eerie Halloween season was further kindled by the movie, making it quite fitting that she collaborated with McAlister’s Deli on their Halloween-themed lemonade and cookie offering.

She expressed her excitement for it even more now, as throughout the years of the Halloweentown film series, the fans have consistently played a significant role in its success. Originally, we were only intended to make one movie, but the fans adored it so much that we had the opportunity to create more.

As Kimberly pondered over the movie’s lasting impact, she expressed her eternal gratitude towards the loyal fanbase.

She revealed her fondness for discussing movie characters and their significance to others. However, she felt that many might not fully grasp the profound influence the affection from fans over time has had on her personally. She enjoys the fact that we can all join together in celebrating Halloween.
