As a seasoned gamer with over three decades under my belt, I must say that Epic Games has truly outdone themselves with Fortnite. The Siphon health and shields system is a game-changer, adding an extra layer of strategy to this already thrilling battle royale.
Fortnite is a fast-moving beast.
It brings new maps every season, has more live events than a British summer festival, and now it’s returned to iPhone in certain parts of the world.
Blink, and you’ve missed a ton of Fortnite news. The same can be said of the gameplay itself.
It’s changed considerably since its initial launch back in 2017, and continues to receive updates.
In the most recent update, you’ll encounter the Siphon Health & Shield System – a feature you can unlock by defeating Doctor Doom. This system made an appearance last year as well, but it has some slight changes in its current form.
So, what is Siphon in this season’s Fortnite?

After I’ve successfully defeated Doctor Doom (located within Castle Doom, at the upper right corner of the map), among the treasures he drops lies a unique artifact known as the Siphon Medallion.
You’ll need to equip this item to use the Siphon mechanic.
Now that you’ve got the medallion on, here’s the thing – as long as it’s still with you, your health and shield will automatically recover whenever you defeat opponents or inflict damage upon them.
But there’s a price: Your location will be revealed to all other players on the map.
If you feel confident with your knowledge of the terrain and your marksmanship skills, by all means, give it a try. The decision is ultimately yours whether this endeavor proves worthwhile.
Otherwise, you might want to stay safe and unequip that Doom Medallion.
