What is your Field Pouch? – Monster Hunter Wilds

In Monster Hunter Wilds, the Field Pouch is one of multiple menus that may seem confusing due to its vague explanations. It tends to be grayed out if you’ve recently visited your camp, but when you’re in the wild, it becomes an essential item you’ll carry with you.

Our Monster Hunter Wilds Field Pouch manual clarifies the purpose of this feature and advocates forming the regular practice of returning to your camp.

Monster Hunter Wilds Field Pouch explained

While adventuring beyond your camp, all items you gather are stored in what’s known as a Gathering Satchel. This includes various materials such as ammunition, herbs, monster remains, essentially anything you find in the wilderness, excluding items that are part of an auto-craft system you have established. It’s important to note that this satchel is distinct from your regular inventory pouch, but it will periodically restock your inventory pouch. For instance, if your inventory includes two Screamer Pods and you find more, one extra pod will be added to your inventory, while the remaining two will remain in the Gathering Satchel.

The automatic refill occurs only when there’s spare space in your inventory sack. For instance, if you already have three Screamer Pods in your inventory sack and use one, the Field Pouch won’t automatically replenish it for you. Instead, you’ll need to manually refill them, which can be done only by a somewhat complex procedure at a campsite.

Step into your tent, whether it’s a pop-up one at a campsite or a base camp, and your Field Pouch will transfer your belongings to the Item Box on its own. However, you’ll need to remove these items from the box and place them back in your item pouch by hand. Neither resting in your tent nor starting a new quest will automatically replenish the items in your item pouch.

Instead of needing to move monster parts manually across various locations, Gemma can craft items directly from them once they’re stored in your inventory box.
