**Warning: Contains full spoilers for The Snow Girl season 2.**
Originating from Javier Castillo’s novel titled “The Snow Girl” (La chica de nieve), this Spanish production has proven to be one of Netflix’s top successes, ranking within the Top 10 in a stunning 60 territories upon its launch in 2023.
Gladly, for me who was left spellbound by its jaw-dropping finale, another dose of the intricate Malaga crime saga is now on offer, providing a chance to tidy up any lingering questions and, undoubtedly, introduce fresh mysteries along the way.
This season, instead of child abduction being the focus of investigative journalist Miren’s (Milena Smit) pursuit, it’s about a teenage crucifixion incident, a sequence of endurance trials, and the potential connection to an unsolved missing person case from the past.
Here’s a look at what went down in the thrilling finale.
The Snow Girl season 2 ending explained
Who was behind The Soul Game?
The unexpected fifth installment unveiled a startling twist: it was revealed that the once peaceful character, Nacho (Hugo Welzel), was the sinister force behind The Soul Game, a harrowing online test designed to challenge faith and loyalty, which had led to the deaths of several teenagers in the vicinity. Regrettably, Miren learned this fact painfully: she nearly lost consciousness due to a chokehold by Nacho’s associate Borja, and was then thrown into the trunk of their escape vehicle.
The initial scene of the finale depicts a journalist being captured and hung on a warehouse wall in a manner reminiscent of Christ. Sadly, Allison met a similar end in an abandoned location, and Nacho informs Miren that she may face the same danger upon his return to the scene after 24 hours.
In a revealing conversation, I, a keen observer, remind Borja of an intriguing fact – I was the inaugural player in The Soul Game. A fateful motorcycle stunt, which resulted in my facial scarring, is the tale behind it. Similarly, Nacho recalls our past moments as he subtly hints at our shared history: he tells me, his confidant, that I earned the moniker ‘Raven of God’ during my hospital stay, a truth he revealed to me during my recovery.
On the very same day, Borja starts questioning whether his old high school companion is truly the divine entity he had earlier thought. Meanwhile, as a desperate attempt to evade accountability for Miren’s upcoming death, Nacho ends up mortally wounding Borja with a stab in the neck.
Why did he choose Miren?

Afterward, the puppeteer unexpectedly drops by to support a tired Miren, offering an explanation for his actions. To be clear, he doesn’t personally hold any significant religious beliefs. Instead, he engages in everything for fun, and specifically here, it’s to avenge the disregard of media attention towards his missing sister’s case.
After witnessing Miren excel as a tenacious journalist searching for another missing young girl in the first season, Nacho grew furious that his sibling hadn’t received similar attention. Subsequently, to exploit her deepest anxieties and retaliate, he decided to read Miren’s popular book to uncover her deepest secrets and use them against her, such as administering a lethal dose of insulin to her long-time colleague Eduardo (Jose Coronado).
Later on, Miren seems to faint, but as Nacho attempts to revive her, she aggressively attacks him and flees. The two subsequently engage in a fierce fight by the shoreline under the cover of darkness. It appears that the end is near when Nacho stabs his adversary twice in the abdomen with a knife, suggesting their conflict has reached its conclusion.
Yet again demonstrating her seemingly extraordinary powers, Miren finds the resilience to repeatedly stab him prior to the police, who had tracked their location using Borja’s phone, arriving for assistance. Somehow, she endures the struggle, but Nacho is no longer among the living.
What happened to Laura?
Meanwhile, while Miren was enduring torment, her coworker Jaime (Miki Esparbe) was diligently solving another major mystery within the series. Initially, he manages to convince Laura’s former boyfriend and initial suspect, Tomas, to meet up. Tomas had been preparing to fly to London for psychiatric treatment due to his father Alberto (Luis Bermejo) manipulating him into thinking that his suspicions about Laura were signs of madness. Consequently, he is taken aback, and initially hesitant, when Jaime reveals that his own father was implicated in her disappearance.
Despite Alberto keeping a secret relationship with Laura, which often included trips to a secluded countryside home called The Green House, even on the day she vanished – Tomas, after much contemplation, provides Jaime with the address in hopes of finding out if this startling revelation is true.
Upon his arrival, Jaime is met by a groundskeeper who exchanges some friendly words before producing a shotgun and escorting him forcefully outside towards Alberto. It seems that Jamie’s fate as the brave reporter hangs in the balance, but as the sound of police sirens approaches, Alberto shoots himself instead.
As I was leaving the chilling location, my eyes fell upon another secluded home nestled within the Malaga countryside. Could this be where they found Laura? It seemed so, but here’s an unexpected twist – she’s not only alive but also a mother to a young boy. Remarkably, she declines any assistance offered to her.
During Laura’s visit to Nacho’s grave, she tells Jaime that following her pregnancy with his child, Alberto advised her to stay hidden at the Green House. Fearing that going home could harm his career, she’s remained there all this time. Moreover, Laura assures him she doesn’t suffer from Stockholm Syndrome. Instead, she sees her love for Alberto as a sin and wishes to spend the rest of her life in penance, living alone.
Where is Miren now?

With just two minutes left, the series unexpectedly introduces another mystery, and this time it’s as if reporter Miren has vanished without a trace. After recovering from her injuries, she apparently decided to step away from all the detective work, but her sudden disappearance has led to a flurry of speculation on social media, with #WhereIsMiren trending.
In the climactic moment, you’ll find a dramatic turn as armed officers burst into a Madrid dry cleaner in the last scene. Upon investigating a concealed room, they unearth a tape labeled ‘Miren 2009.’ Here’s crossing our fingers that Netflix approves another season to shed light on this mystery.
