Wheel of Fortune: Ryan Seacrest Officially Begins Filming as New Host

As a huge fan of Wheel of Fortune, I’m absolutely thrilled to see Ryan Seacrest take over as the new host from the legendary Pat Sajak. With his decades-long career in the entertainment industry, Seacrest brings a wealth of experience and charisma that is sure to keep the show fresh and exciting.

About a year and a half after being announced as Pat Sajak’s replacement, Ryan Seacrest commenced filming new episodes of “Wheel of Fortune” on Monday. Seacrest provided fans with a sneak peek into his first day on set through an Instagram Reel. During this initial session, Seacrest spun the wheel without any live audience or contestants present. Furthermore, Seacrest explored a section of the backstage area that functions as a “Wheel of Fortune” archive. This space houses costumes, props, a television displaying classic episodes, and accolades from the “Guinness Book of World Records.”

With a versatile resume spanning several decades in the entertainment industry, Seacrest has worn various hats: daytime talk show host, competition show emcee, red carpet interviewer, radio broadcaster, and New Year’s Eve event host. He is set to succeed Pat Sajak who is retiring, but fans can still look forward to Vanna White continuing her long-standing role.

I’ve been a devoted fan of Wheel of Fortune since the 80s. Back then, Pat Sajak replaced Chuck Woolery as the host in 1981, and Vanna White started turning letters in 1982. It’s amazing to think about how long they’ve been a part of this iconic game show!

“I’m deeply honored to follow in Pat Sajak’s esteemed footsteps,” Seacrest expressed upon getting the opportunity. “For four decades, Americans have been delighted and comforted by Pat and Vanna on our TV screens, bringing smiles to our faces night after night. I admire how you’ve consistently recognized and supported contestants, creating a welcoming atmosphere for viewers. I’m eager to learn as much as possible from you during this transition.”

As a gamer, I’m thrilled to share that one of my early roles was hosting the game show “Click.” Now, I can’t contain my excitement to build on that experience and take it to new heights on the grandest stage. I can hardly wait to continue the beloved tradition of spinning the wheel and teaming up with the legendary Vanna White.

From 1994 to 1996, Seacrest hosted “Gladiators 2000,” a spin-off of “American Gladiators.” During this time, he gained widespread recognition as the co-host of “American Idol” in the early 2000s. After a ten-year stint there, he broadened his horizons and took on the role of host for “Live With Kelly & Ryan” in 2017. Previously, he succeeded TV icon Dick Clark as the presenter of New Year’s Rockin’ Eve. A highly recognizable figure in North America, Seacrest has also contributed to NBC’s Olympics coverage and helped bring Larry King’s show to a close.
