In connection with the long-awaited sequel, “28 Years Later,” now released and marking the start of a trilogy, director Danny Boyle has been making the rounds for interviews. With a rich and diverse collection of films under his belt that spans horror, science fiction, real-life stories, and book adaptations (and a Best Director Oscar to boot), he recently discussed the film projects he’s been presented with. ‘I came across Sigourney Weaver and Winona Ryder who were involved in a project, making it quite significant. They were exceptional, but it was during the time when computer-generated imagery (CG) was being introduced. I struggled with this transition and couldn’t handle the CG effects. Being deeply invested in the concept of Alien, I had an unexpected moment of insight, realizing that I wasn’t the right fit for this project. Instead, I opted to work on A Life Less Ordinary with 20th Century Fox, a decision that turned out to be a flop. However, looking back, it’s all water under the bridge.’
