This week, there won’t be any new episodes of “Dexter: Original Sin,” leaving many fans disappointed. Known for its massive popularity, it seems that Showtime isn’t ready to say goodbye to this show, even if they have to bring it back from the dead. The series first premiered in 2006 and ran successfully for eight seasons up until 2013. While some seasons received more critical acclaim than others, its viewership remained strong throughout. Almost a decade later, Showtime revived Michael C. Hall’s character as the title serial killer for a limited series titled “Dexter: New Blood.
Interestingly, the revival of Dexter: New Blood was intended to appease fans by providing a conclusive, fulfilling ending that would mend the show’s questionable finale. However, it ended up achieving none of these goals. Instead, the conclusion of Dexter: New Blood left fans frustrated yet again, but still managed to draw in large audiences. Showtime couldn’t ignore this ratings powerhouse and decided to continue with more Dexter, even greenlighting a prequel series that miraculously resurrects Dexter at the start. This paves the way for a new sequel series titled Dexter: Resurrection, which is now in production and set to debut in June 2025.
Dexter: Original Sin – When Will Episode 7 Release?
As a devoted fan, I can’t contain my excitement as we’ve nearly reached the halfway point in Dexter: Original Sin. The anticipation among fellow enthusiasts is palpable for the upcoming episode. Regrettably, it seems we’ll need to be patient a bit longer to uncover the next chapter. Unfortunately, episode 7 of Dexter: Original Sin has been pushed back a week due to unforeseen circumstances. Initially, Showtime had planned to air episodes 2 and 3 simultaneously, but this decision has resulted in the postponement of episode 7. The network hasn’t disclosed the specific reasons behind this delay, but speculation suggests there may be several factors at play.
To begin with, the production of “Dexter: Original Sin” finished in late November. This leaves approximately a month and a half from the wrapping up of the last episode to the release of the first six episodes. It’s possible that the show’s creators required additional post-production time for episode 7, but this is merely conjecture. Showtime might have planned to accommodate another series on their schedule as well. In any case, “Dexter: Original Sin” will be back with its delightful Easter Eggs next week, airing at its regular time. The following episode will debut on Paramount+ on Friday, January 24th at midnight Eastern Time.
