In Monster Hunter Wilds, you’ll often need to explore the terrain first before the monsters show up on your map. This is particularly true at the start of your journey, so here’s a guide on how to locate the Black Flame in Monster Hunter Wilds.

How to Find the Black Flame in Monster Hunter Wilds

In the Monster Hunter Wilds quest Chapter 2-4: Long-forgotten Flame, players will be given a mission to locate the elusive Black Flame. This monster was known to cause chaos in the forge before disappearing. Prior to embarking on this hunt and pursuing it, consider replenishing your healing items first and enhancing your armor for maximum fire resistance to better prepare for the upcoming battle.

There won’t be an initial location marker for the Black Flame, so players must explore the vicinity for any hints about its whereabouts. Fortunately, it isn’t too distant. Instead, I recommend setting a waypoint at Area 7, which lies just to the south of Base Camp within the region.

Following your visit to Area 7 with the Seikret, try looking around the ground for a luminescent heap of partially digested food. This should help you locate the mysterious Oozemuck item more quickly, as it has a noticeable glow.

In Area 15, you’ll find the Black Flame. Make sure to set a waypoint if one isn’t already there. Then, take your Seikret and head towards the lower level. Scoutflies will guide you to the monster once they have it. If you need to restock on items quickly, there’s a camp in Area 9 where you can do that.
