Similar to other hidden keys scattered throughout the game, the Brewery Cellar Key may initially seem absent. To obtain it, you’ll need to conduct a thorough search – quite literally. As I chatted with Bill in his secret hideout, marked on the Midsummer Isle map as 36E, 97.9N, I realized my next destination was the Brewery Orchard, found at 35.9E, 99.5N to the east. But before embarking on this journey, it’s crucial to check my inventory for a Metal Detector. If I don’t have one yet, I can grab one from the ruins of Midsummer Isle’s Abandoned Village. This hidden treasure can be found inside one of the buildings near where I initially landed on the island, at approximately 31.6E, 96.3N. A quick glance at the map or a stroll through the village should help me locate it easily.

Upon arriving at Brewery Orchard, rather than rushing through the main gate, it’s wiser to make your way towards the entrance located at coordinates 35.2E, 99.7N on the map. This approach allows you to bypass a crowd of bees and potentially postpone an encounter with the Beekeeper. Beginning from this side entrance, you will discover the Brewery Cellar down the steps inside the first building on your left.

After defeating the two druids and gathering any weapons or valuable items they possess, carefully navigate through the narrow opening in the wall to discover a sealed Brewery Cellar entrance. To proceed with your goal, you’ll need to unlock this door using the Brewery Cellar Key.

Despite the game suggesting that you can fend off a bee swarm by kicking them while keeping your gaze on the ground to stomp ground-based swarms, these insects can swiftly bite large portions of your health and will persistently chase you. Thus, it’s wiser to steer clear of them or run to a location far from their territory in order to find safety elsewhere.

Instead of searching for the Brewery Cellar Key within the Brewery itself or by plundering dead bodies, there’s a helpful clue on the sign next to the Brewery Cellar door suggesting you can find the Brewery Cellar Key hidden in the Brewery Orchard. The clue is subtly written as ‘The key belongs to the Orchard’s Earth.’ If you tap the map, it will now have a yellow circle marker showing where to search for the key using your metal detector.

Return to the upper level, specifically the heart of the Brewery Orchard, to ward off bees and engage the Beekeeper if required. Meanwhile, another important task to aid you in your search is enhancing a vital tool, your metal detector, to unearth the key – literally dig it up.

To the left of the Beekeeper adversary, locate the Scientist’s body leaning against a tree and pick up the Detector MK 2 Schematics note lying on the ground. This note contains a crafting recipe that allows you to acquire the Metal Detector upgrade, much like enhancing weapons in the game Atomfall.

To retrieve the Brewery Cellar Key, first, use your recently upgraded Metal Detector in the crafting menu to locate it. The key is nestled next to a wooden cart, not too far from the corpse. As demonstrated in the video below, when you’ve found the buried cache containing the Brewery Cellar Key, all five lights on the detector will turn red and emit a beep.
