As a seasoned Pokémon Go trainer with years of experience under my belt, I can confidently say that choosing Grookey is the way to go for the Galar Calling Special Research story. Not only does it have the cutest starter design (let’s be honest, who doesn’t love a good tree-mon?), but its evolution, Rillaboom, is an absolute beast in the Pokémon Go Battle League.

View Urgent ForecastThe debut of Pokémon Go’s Max Out introduces a fresh, unique Special Research mission that gamers can accomplish.
In line with past Special Research assignments, trainers must opt for a path featuring three distinct creatures hailing from the Galar region.
Just like Sword and Shield, players commence their journey by selecting one of the three starting Pokémon, and while it’s possible to catch them all, choosing among them affects the available challenges and rewards.

Which path should you choose in Pokémon Go?
The best Pokémon Go path to choose is by selecting Grookey.
Apart from being a charming Grass-type Pokémon, its Rillaboom evolution is also an outstanding pick for the Pokémon Go Battle League. In this league, there’s even more to win!
Engaging with Grookey during gameplay impacts the Galar Calling Special Research mission, as it involves progressively evolving Grookey into Thwackey and then Rillaboom. Additionally, certain tasks provide opportunities for players to accumulate extra Grookey Candy.
For those choosing Scorbunny, their Galar Calling narrative will be infused with a touch of the Fire element. Abundant Scorbunny Candies are available, as well as more opportunities to capture the fiery rabbit.
Selecting Sobble adds Water influences to the Galar Calling story, with objectives including evolving it into Drizzile and Inteleon.
Similar to how players can gain extra Candy rewards and increased odds of catching Grookey and Scorbunny, so too can trainers accumulate additional Candy and boost their chances of catching other Pokémon.
On the other hand, the choice of Pokémon often comes down to personal preference.
As a dedicated film buff, if you’ve never embarked on a Pokémon adventure with a Fire-type character, I’d strongly recommend Scorbunny for your next journey. If you’re aiming to diversify your Pokédex and create some waves, Sobble is the perfect companion for that splash of excitement!
