As a die-hard White Collar fan, I can hardly contain my excitement about the potential revival of this beloved series! Matt Bomer’s recent interview with People has sent my heart racing, and it seems that we might just get to revisit Neal Caffrey’s world once more.
Matt Bomer, known for his role in White Collar, shares an exciting prospect about a possible return of the beloved show. In a chat with People (through The Hollywood Reporter), Bomer mentioned that while nothing has been officially confirmed, there’s a script for the project and he finds it “excellent.” Bomer describes the potential revival script as one that allows them to continue the story as if no time had passed since the original series ended. The script also honors the cast members from the original White Collar series who have sadly passed away since the show concluded.
According to Bomer, the script fits perfectly with the series we managed to run for six seasons. It seems as though he resumed exactly from where we ended last time.
He mentioned, “This approach is cleverly entertaining, naturally woven, and pays homage to Willie Garson, Diahann Carroll, and others we’ve lost since the series finale. This tribute was particularly significant to me. If you loved the show, I believe you’ll find it enjoyable watching this.”
So far, the renewal of “White Collar” has not been confirmed, but Bomer remains hopeful given the series’ success on Netflix.
White Collar Creator Jeff Eastin Confirmed He Was Working on a Revival Earlier This Year
At Variety‘s TV Fest, Eastin confirmed that he was working the script for the White Collar reboot.
Eastin announced they will be restarting (or resetting) things, and he is composing the script for this fresh start. He described the script as exceptional, as it resolves all the questions that arise from watching the show, making it accessible even for those new to the series. The script is carefully crafted to appeal to both existing and potential viewers.
What Is White Collar About?
The TV show “White Collar” ran for six seasons from 2009 to 2014, focusing on the character Neal Caffrey, played by Matt Bomer, who was a con man and worked with FBI Special Agent in Charge Peter Burke (Tim DeKay) as a criminal informant. The series also included Willi Garson, Tiffani Thiessen, Marsha Thomason, Sharif Atkins, and Hilarie Burton as regular cast members. Diahann Carroll was also featured. Tragically, Willi Garson passed away in 2021, and Matt Bomer has discussed the difficulties of reviving “White Collar” without the cherished actor.
“Initially, that thought popped up for me, but what Jeff Eastin proposed to Tim and myself seemed to acknowledge his significant contributions to the series and respect him as an individual. Since I wouldn’t rejoin unless it did this, I believe it serves as a means for him to remain connected with the show in some capacity.”
