White Lotus’ Jason Isaacs Reveals Show’s Paycheck Per Episode

Jason Isaacs wasn’t making smoothies for the money.  

Approximately four months following the debut of the third season of The White Lotus, it was disclosed by the 62-year-old actor, who portrayed Timothy Ratliffe (the family patriarch), that each cast member received a relatively modest compensation for each episode: $40,000.

Jason explained to Variety in an interview on June 16th that actors typically avoid discussing their pay in public because it seems outrageously unequal given the nature of their work – applying makeup and adopting funny voices. However, when considering standard earnings for major TV shows, he noted that this compensation is surprisingly low.

Besides earning approximately $320,000 for the entire season, Jason’s earnings were comparable to those with less acting experience, including Patrick Schwarzenegger, Sam Nivola, and Sarah Catherine Hook – his on-screen kids in the series.

But according to the Harry Potter alum, that didn’t bother him at all.

He clarified that he doesn’t work for monetary reasons, “I’ve managed quite well.” Many might perceive him as wealthy due to his possessions, but regretfully, he’s been imprudent by increasing his expenses to match his income and has essentially spent all the money he’s earned throughout the years.

Despite the fact that the show didn’t particularly enrich him financially, the actor playing Peter Pan was adamant that no one among the cast would give up this unique experience for anything else in the world.

He jokingly commented, “To tell you the truth, we would gladly have paid for the experience.” Or, “He jestingly said, ‘I’d give an arm and a leg to have been a part of it.’

TopMob News has reached out to HBO for comment but has not heard back.

What exactly made the filming experience so unique for them? It wasn’t just the lavish Thai resort backdrop that added to the charm, but there were some conditions attached as well.

In an interview with The Guardian in February, Jason described the theatre camp he attended as having some similarities to an open prison, explaining that it was impossible to avoid other participants. He mentioned that there were strains and challenges, but he wasn’t sure if these tensions stemmed from on-screen conflicts or if they would have occurred regardless.

He went on to say, “Relationships came together and fell apart, romances bloomed and wilted, friendships were made and shattered.” Reflecting on this lengthy duration, he noted that many individuals spent significant time away from their families, amidst the intoxicating environment Thailand offers, where wildness thrives.

Moreover, though he wasn’t kept out of the action, Emma Hewitt, his wife who watched over the diverse characters on set, had some apprehensions.

He openly acknowledged that he had been part of certain behind-the-scenes turmoil, stating, “I was accustomed to such situations, but after only a couple of weeks, my wife exclaimed, ‘Some of these people are insane!’ I responded, ‘No, it’s just a group of actors working on location, dear. You’ve forgotten the nature of our profession.’

In her role as Jaclyn on The White Lotus, Monaghan is indeed a TV personality. Yet, off-screen, she’s equally recognized for her roles in True Detective, Bad Monkey, Messiah, and The Path. On the silver screen, she has graced us as Julia in Mission: Impossible – Fallout and Angie Genaro in Gone Baby Gone.

You’ll be reassured that it isn’t just your imagination—Goggins does indeed seem familiar. Besides appearing in two films directed by Quentin Tarantino (as Billy Crash in “Django Unchained” and Sheriff Chris Mannix in “The Hateful Eight”), he is also recognized for his role as Boyd Crowder on the TV show “Justified,” which aired from 2010 to 2015.
