Warning: This article contains spoilers for season three, episode six of The White Lotus.
One guest of The White Lotus ignored the hotel’s strict do not disturb sign.
As a faithful follower, I’m Sam Nivola, the actor portraying Lochlan in the Ratliff family for season three, sharing screen time with Patrick Schwarzenegger as Saxon and Sarah Catherine Hook as Piper. In an unusual move, I’ve chosen to breach our show’s stringent confidentiality agreement (NDA) to a select few about the end of my character on HBO’s series.
In an interview with Variety, the 21-year-old shared that they’ve confided in their parents but not in their sister yet. They mentioned that their sister tends to be poor at keeping secrets.
Sam additionally shared the news with his girlfriend, Iris Apatow, who happens to be the daughter of Judd Apatow and Leslie Mann, for a straightforward reason. “I informed my girlfriend,” he clarified, “because she was present during filming. That’s essentially it.
Since then, Sam (son of English actress Emily Mortimer and her husband Alessandro Nivola, along with his sister May), openly admitted that he harbors a fear of reprisal.
He jokingly admitted that he wasn’t supposed to share the information, as there are many confidentiality agreements in place. He’s quite anxious about potentially facing legal action from HBO.
Although Sam has been secretive about the details of the show’s last episodes, he openly discussed his experience filming this season’s dramatic events, particularly the surprising scenes involving alcohol and drugs, and the disturbing incidents of incest between his character and Patrick’s.
He shared that it felt quite unusual to kiss Patrick since he’s one of my closest friends. Plus, just to clarify, we both are straight individuals, and the situation is already quite peculiar.
Additionally, a frequently debated aspect of the storyline, featuring Charlotte Le Bon portraying Chloe, marked Sam’s debut in acting out a romantic scene on-screen.
He confided that he was incredibly apprehensive. Being someone who naturally worries quite a bit, he’s always tense, especially with tasks of significant magnitude such as the one at hand. Filming the intimate scene was nerve-wracking, and to make matters worse, they were on a boat, which exacerbates his motion sickness, making the situation all the more stressful.
Regardless of my jitters and unease, the days at work turned out smoothly, largely due to the guidance of the show’s creator, Mike White.
Sam stated that everything unfolded without a hitch, and Mike White remained composed throughout. He had faith in both Patrick and Charlotte, which made him feel secure.

It seems like Lucius Malfoy failed to board the Hogwarts train and wound up at The White Lotus resort instead. Intriguingly, the Harry Potter actor is making a comeback on our screens, assuming the role of Timothy Ratliff – a wealthy businessman enjoying his vacation with his spouse and three kids. Despite his new appearance without the luxurious blonde locks, he still portrays an aristocratic character.
In addition, Isaacs has been seen in more contemporary TV productions such as Robot Chicken, The Great, Sex Education, and most recently White Lotus, where he worked alongside Aimee Lou Wood.
Instead of shouting when you encounter it, note that Posey, who portrays Timothy’s wife Victoria Ratliff, might seem recognizable from her roles in films like “Superman Returns,” “Blade: Trinity,” “Scream 3” and “Dazed and Confused.” She has also appeared in minor roles on television shows such as “Parks and Recreation,” “New Girl,” “Portlandia” and “Search Party.
However, those truly fond of romantic comedies are likely to recognize her as Patricia Eden, the girlfriend character of Tom Hanks’s role, Joe Fox, from the 1998 film “You’ve Got Mail”.

Before playing the role of Piper, Ratliffs’ daughter, Hook had already gained experience in horror and fantasy genres. She played Debbie Glatzel in “The Conjuring: The Devil Made Me Do It”, Juliette Fairmont in “First Kill”, and Elena Milak in “Monsterland”.
Apart from recognizing her as Caroline Merteuil in the 2024 remake of “Cruel Intentions,” you might be familiar with her from the Ryan Murphy cinematic universe, where she portrayed Catherine Allday Davis in the series “Impeachment: American Crime Story” that delved into the Bill Clinton-Monica Lewinsky scandal.
Nivola, currently in a relationship with Iris Apatow, daughter of Judd Apatow and Leslie Mann, joins the Ratliff family as the character Lochlan in the upcoming project. However, prior to his Thailand adventure, he was featured in a series centering around a wealthy beach-going family – “The Perfect Couple”. In this production, he portrayed Will Winbury, the son of Greer and Tag Winbury, characters played by Nicole Kidman and Liev Schreiber respectively. Notably, he also shared screen time with Meghann Fahy, a cast member from “White Lotus”, who portrayed Daphne Sullivan in season two and later Merritt Monaco in “The Perfect Couple”.
Apart from his roles, Nivola has appeared alongside Adam Driver in the movie “White Noise”, Bradley Cooper in “Maestro”, and Anne Hathaway in either “With” or “In” another production.

Additionally, Rothwell demonstrated her comedic skills by serving as a writer on “Saturday Night Live” from 2014 to 2015.
As a devoted admirer, I’m proudly stepping into the role of Kate in ‘The White Lotus’, following my time as Christine Everhart in the Marvel Cinematic Universe. Most recently, you might have seen me as Dinah Donahue in ‘Palm Royale’ and as Grace Kennedy-Sampson in ‘Jupiter’s Legacy’.
In this new season, the actress known for her roles during the Gilded Age, as well as appearances in The Sinner, Fargo, and The Leftovers, takes on the character of Laurie. She travels with friends Kate and Jaclyn to Thailand for a girls’ vacation.
In her role as Jaclyn on The White Lotus, Monaghan is indeed a TV star. Yet, this isn’t just a character she plays; she’s a bona fide television star off-screen too. Her resume boasts appearances on True Detective, Bad Monkey, Messiah, and The Path. On the silver screen, she has showcased her talent as Julia in Mission: Impossible – Fallout and Angie Genaro in Gone Baby Gone.
You’ll have a sense of validation, as Goggins does seem recognizable – not just because you might have seen him on screen. He has appeared in two movies directed by Quentin Tarantino: as Billy Crash in “Django Unchained” and Sheriff Chris Mannix in “The Hateful Eight”. Moreover, from 2010 to 2015, he starred as Boyd Crowder on the TV series “Justified”.
In the third season, a free-spirited character named Chelsea, played by an English actress, enters the cast. This actress is particularly recognized for her role as Aimee Gibbs on Netflix’s “Sex Education.” Additionally, she has been seen in “Seize Them!” and “Daddy Issues.” However, in this new role, she engages in a romance with Rick Hatchett, portrayed by Goggins.
Her acting career spans over five decades, starting with the role of Grounded God in 1975. More recently, she played the character Prani Chiraanan in the series In Family We Trust, which was released in 2018.
